Luggage rack

Just wondering if anyone would know of a reasonable place to purchase a luggage rack for our 05 Venture. I've looked on ebay...but they are about $130.00. Used would be great if it was in good condition. Any idea's?

I just ordered one from South Seattle Sports Plaza yesterday! Total bill was....

$113.21 + $16.76 = $129.97

 

Not sure if you could do any better than that for a factory rack.

I looked too but ended up with the Yamaha brand. It looks to be a better quality than the others I looked at. I decided a few extra dollars was worth it especially since I had invested so much in the bike to begin with.

I bought the one from WingThings les then a year ago, and it is rusting pretty bad. If you get a cheap one, I would either wax it real good or shoot a coat of clear on it before you install it...

I purchased a luggage rack from bigbikeparts.com. I paid $81.95 and it is now listed for $99. I never put it on my '99 Venture because the guy I bought the bike from had already put a rack on it when I went to pick up the bike. Since I don't need it I am willing to sell it. If you are interested in it go to bigbikeparts.com search part #52-610 and then click on the line for that part and it will bring up a picture. It is still in the bubble wrap. I'll sell it for $60.00 plus shipping. Let me know.

So has the quality of Yamaha aftermarket chrome improved back in 98 and my 1st star and my 2001 i had alot of pitting flaking chrome aftermarket pieces. the stock chrome was fine though.

Fairly new to the new products Mike, just going with the flow based on what I've read either here or the other forum. I have the OEM on my 05 and its in great shape.

 

The other thing I considered it that it is made for the RSV trunk and one would think that it has all the right "bends" in all the right places for a good fit.

We just bought our Venture, traded in a V-Star and because the set up is all different, our t-bags, etc don't work on the Venture. Trying to reorganize our camping gear without having to spend major $$. Let me know if your interested. Thanks!!

I've been looking for one too, for my 08 Venture. I found several, some mentioned in other post replies.Nearly all of them have a single post mount on each corner. Some with rubber and some without. The only one I have found that could possibly take the loading for the lid is the OEM rack that has bars inside and out for stress relief. The cheapist I found was with South Seattle Sports Plaza. Price quoted was $134.96 plus s/h. The part number is STR4Yx62-50-00
