DanielM Posted January 3, 2020 #1 Posted January 3, 2020 Noticed code 90 showing up where milage usually does when turning bike off via kill switch after ride into work this morning. Powering off and on made it go away. Any idea what this means? Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
bpate4home Posted January 3, 2020 #2 Posted January 3, 2020 You can check the Service manual page 7-84. The manual is here. https://www.venturerider.org/manuals/2018servicemanual.pdf. 'No Normal signals from the switch are received by the ECU.'
sldunker Posted January 3, 2020 #3 Posted January 3, 2020 I believe that is the code that some people are getting when one of the cruise switches start to fail. Your dealer should be able to fix you up
DanielM Posted January 3, 2020 Author #4 Posted January 3, 2020 I believe that is the code that some people are getting when one of the cruise switches start to fail. Your dealer should be able to fix you upIs this becoming a known thing with this bike? Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
sldunker Posted January 3, 2020 #5 Posted January 3, 2020 I have 14,000 miles on my Star Venture and have had zero issues. Some guys may be washing their bikes with a pressure washer and getting water into the switches. Not a known issue.......yet.
DanielM Posted January 3, 2020 Author #6 Posted January 3, 2020 I'm at about 23k miles. Bike has not been anywhere near a pressure washer. ABS light is also coming on. Will give the warranty a test drive with the dealer. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
cheny Posted January 4, 2020 #7 Posted January 4, 2020 Code 90 is one of the cruise control switches. This is a common issue. Dealer will replace the front or back or both brake switches.Yamaha knows about this.
SKRAW_STAR443 Posted February 1, 2021 #8 Posted February 1, 2021 I had the same thing happen recently on my 2018 SVTC and weird enough I got a recall notice in the mail about this issue a few days ago. Took the letter to the dealer and they ordered the part. Once it comes in and gets replaced. I will post again if it goes away.
