David Strnage Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 OK guys, I went out and bought a new Venture this weekend, I am planning on taking it to DC Memorial day weekend and my son is riding with me. How much air do you recomend putting in the rear shock and forks to carry the both of us and our gear. I weigh 240 and he is 140 and probably 30 or 40 pounds of gear. I have never had air suspension on a bike before and don't know where to start. David
Moakster Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 If your going 2 up you will need to set the rear shock at about 45-50 lbs for both of y'all and your gear. The front shock can be left alone or a small amount up to 7lbs and no more for a firmer ride. Be sure and use a small hand pump and not a station or foot pedal pump as you can blow the seals out real quick. Have a good trip. Moakster
David Strnage Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 Thanks a bunch, I just didn't know where to start. David
spotsy Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 (edited) I believe the rear shock calls for a max of (corrected 57 PSI). When the wife and I ride I usually have mine around 30 to 35 and that seems to work well. If you have never been to Thunder and you are moving up to a Venture, make sure you ride it around in some parking lot's at home to get use to the extra weight at slow speeds. There is usually a fair amount of stop and go but the feeling of being there is great. As long as you're fairly comfortable at slow speeds you will not have any problems. Have your son ready with the camera, you'll get some great shots there. Spotsy Edited May 14, 2008 by spotsy wrong pressure

spotsy Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I stand corrected. Thanks. I was always told 40 just never bothered looking at the manual. :-) Spotsy
