Venturous Randy Posted December 26, 2019 #1 Posted December 26, 2019 Things were going pretty good with various family get togethers and meals, opening presents and everything. Went to sleep on the couch and Linda fell asleep in her recliner and when she woke up and with it a bit dark, going to the bathroom, she fell. She landed on her left side and broke her arm where it connects to the ball in her shoulder. She is now in the hospital and they may be able to operate tomorrow. Dr said he will have to attach it with a plate and screws and we are looking at several months of recovery. Randy
Marcarl Posted December 26, 2019 #2 Posted December 26, 2019 That is a BIG OUCH!!! May you and Linda find peace even in this event. Bad break for sure. We will ask for a speedy recovery for Linda and patience for you as well.
saddlebum Posted December 26, 2019 #3 Posted December 26, 2019 Very sorry to hear about Linda's misfortune. Hope all goes well with the surgery and she can return to normal ASAP.
N3FOL Posted December 26, 2019 #4 Posted December 26, 2019 Praying for Linda’s successful surgery and speedy recovery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
uncledj Posted December 26, 2019 #5 Posted December 26, 2019 Wow....hate to hear about things like that. Will pray that she heals quickly with minimal discomfort. Even with the injury, try to remember what Christmas is all about.
skydoc_17 Posted December 26, 2019 #6 Posted December 26, 2019 Hey Randy, Both Jean and I are very sad to hear of your wife's accident! Prayers up for a speedy recovery. Earl and Jean.
RDawson Posted December 26, 2019 #8 Posted December 26, 2019 Sorry to hear that. Seems we're starting to break easier and heal slower nowadays. Prayers up for quick healing.
BlueSky Posted December 26, 2019 #9 Posted December 26, 2019 So sorry to hear that. Wishing her a speedy recovery! I fell today. The wooden slat walkway to my daughter's home in the mountains was wet and slick. My feet went out from under me but I was able to catch myself on my right knee and right hand and didn't go down all the way into the mud. Those pushups I've been doing helped a bunch.
cecdoo Posted December 27, 2019 #10 Posted December 27, 2019 Really sorry to hear this Randy, give Linda our best and hope she heals up quickly and as painless as possible. Craig
luvmy40 Posted December 27, 2019 #11 Posted December 27, 2019 Prayers up! Never fun but worse when it ruins a good holiday.
Venturous Randy Posted December 27, 2019 Author #12 Posted December 27, 2019 Update on Linda. She had surgery this morning and the good thing is, it was a clean break. They were able to put it back together with a plate and screws and hopefully she will get some of her range of motion back. The Dr said that if she is able to raise her arm high enough to brush her hair, that would be pretty good. We want to thank our family here for the thoughts and prayers. Randy
djh3 Posted December 27, 2019 #13 Posted December 27, 2019 Sorry to hear that Randy. Hope recovery goes well. Post therapy will be key. Work hard and push it will be better when done.

Venturous Randy Posted December 27, 2019 Author #18 Posted December 27, 2019 Linda did not get to come home today because she now has pneumonia. So, we will see how this goes. Randy
RandyR Posted December 29, 2019 #19 Posted December 29, 2019 Linda did not get to come home today because she now has pneumonia. So, we will see how this goes. Randy ouch. hopefully this quickly passes. I'll also caution you that the plates screwed into arm-bones can break loose, so be very careful until followup xrays show the bone has started to mend. I'll also suggest having the plate and screws removed by a follow-on operation... Thats my experience, for what its worth.
BIG TOM Posted December 29, 2019 #20 Posted December 29, 2019 Holy smokes, you make sure Linda takes it easy.. Heck of a way to end the year. Hope she heals fast. Now you make sure you take good care of her.
