I was browsing around London Drugs yesterday ... lotta stuff on sale ... came across this ... http://store.xmfanstore.com/xpress.html

Regular price $99 .... on sale for $29.95 !! Did I buy it... you betcha! ... Works great and looks good sitting there on my scoot.

Anyone have experience with this product? I hope it's not some kinda DUD.

Well, it looks good, and if it works as advertised, you got a real steal on it.

Other than that, I have no ideal if it is a good buy. Not a fan of XM radio. Guess I'm too cheap to pay to listen to a radio........ (with the exception og public radio)

On top of the sale price, I just found a mail-in rebate on their website for $20 so, if I actually get it (a lot of mail-in rebates never seem to go anywhere) ... that's $9.95 for this radio!!! can't beat that!

I got my brand new XM Roady 2 on eBay for less than 10 bucks a while back. The price has really came down in the past few years. The companies make the money in the monthly subcrpition price. I love XM!

It just so happens that I have a Roady 2 that I'm not using anymore. If anyone wants it I'll give it to you for the cost of shipping, or better yet save that money if your going to Maintenance day.

Hey Owl...I hear that sometimes.

Thing is, your comparing XM to what you hear on FM or AM...it aint the same at all!!

Do you pay for cable or satellite TV? ( you can get that off a rabbit ear, free) How about a cell phone ( you can get a landline cheaper)..what about internet? (you can get that free at the library)...

Thing is, what you get on XM ( or sirius) is lightyears ahead of what you hear on your old broadcast radio. If you live where you have a good selection of the music, sports, and talk programming that you like, and dont travel much, then yeah..its not a particularly good deal.

But if you drive a lot, or live in a burg where decent programming is not available, then XM is a good deal. For the cost of a few beers, I get a whole month of wonderful entertainment...and I actually buy it in 'bulk'...years in advance, so its a pretty good deal. I have 3 of them, one on each bike, plus one that I use at work and at home.

Maybe sometime you can listen to one for a day or two...that might get you interested!

For me, aside from the fact that I like to listen to tunes and we have a good selection of local stations here, I find that my stock 1st gen stereo fades out a lot (loses signal strength). Now, that's probably due to the crappy antenna but even if I put $$$ into the stock system, I'm still stuck to whatever FM channels I can receive in whatever area I am in, PLUS... I gotta listen to all the advertising and other "jabber". With the XM, I can listen to whatever kind of music I want, pretty much wherever I am, and a lot more. So, for $30 plus the subscription fee's.... I LIKE IT A LOT!

Oh yeah, and I didn't sacrifice any beer to buy it either LOL
