Freebird Posted May 11, 2008 #1 Posted May 11, 2008 I see where some areas in the central USA got hit hard last night by tornados. I hope that all our members and their loved ones came through it unharmed.
Eck Posted May 11, 2008 #2 Posted May 11, 2008 Well we are ok... we put or personal belongings (wallet keys purse glasses & small hand carry safe, etc, in the bathroom with the motorcycle helmets and watched local TV weather channels for about 30 mnutes...got really windy, but no damage here..
Sleeperhawks Mechanic Posted May 11, 2008 #3 Posted May 11, 2008 Strong thunderstorms woke me up this morning around 5:30 but nohing major here so far. Missouri and Oklahoma got hit bad and hope as well all our members are okay. By the way, Eck, the motorcyle helmets are a great idea! Never thought of that one! Ride safe, Bobbie
FROG MAN Posted May 11, 2008 #4 Posted May 11, 2008 Were under a tornado watch now. There is a storm front still about 100 miles out but were getting some rain and wind now.
mini-muffin Posted May 11, 2008 #5 Posted May 11, 2008 Hey Don I notice that low is in Ohio. What are you folks doing to the rest of us? :rotf: I hope we don't have anymore tornadoes or warnings. Went through that friday morning here. Margaret
buddy Posted May 11, 2008 #6 Posted May 11, 2008 We knew nothing about the bad weather yesterday untill we came home. I was the best man for my Friends wedding in Medicine Park at 4:30pm yesterday Temp was 92F hardly any wind no clouds in the sky, Nice day for a wedding. Found out later eastern part of Okla. was hit hard by Tornado's. WOW Our Prayers go out to those who were hit hard. We were hit by one in 1973 Wish this on nobody! Buddy
1sttenor Posted May 11, 2008 #7 Posted May 11, 2008 We've got officers working in the Joplin-Neosho, MO area. At least 14 are known dead. I've never seen any of our members in that area, as I watch for MO folks, but they are in our prayers.
Yammer Dan Posted May 11, 2008 #8 Posted May 11, 2008 Power out most of today just came back on. How did we ever find anything to do before all the stuff that spoils us now.
Dano Posted May 11, 2008 #9 Posted May 11, 2008 Lights flashed off for a couple of seconds this morning, but power has been on all day. But my neighbor , who just lives around the corner, is on a different power co. and for once, HIS has been out all day instead of mine. I bought a generator last winter (06-07) because power went out all the time, but since I've gotten it, powers not gone out at all! Matter of fact, he's the first one to use it! Had strong winds in Indiana, but I hear a possible tornado by Columbus, OH. Haven't called my family over there to see whats up yet. Internet and cable was down for a couple of hours this PM, but everything OK now. Dan
