One of my biggest concerns has always been that somebody posts a message and nobody responds at all. We get so many posts that it is easy for a new post to get pushed down the list pretty quickly and never get noticed. Most of our long time members understand that it can happen but for a new member especially, I just don't want them to feel unwelcome or ignored.

So, I've added a new feature to the forum and if some of you can use it every once in a while, it would be helpful. Under the "Search" link in the top menu bar, there is now a link called "Unanswered Threads". Click on that and it will show you a list of new threads that nobody ever responded to. If you see one that is more than a day old, it would be nice to offer some type of response. Even if it's just something like, "Sorry, I don't know the answer but hopefully somebody will jump in soon with some help". At least they know that they are not being ignored AND it will bump it up again so that maybe somebody else will see it.

Hey, We don't want to ignore you so I posted here, don't know the answer just yet, but will post again when I know, most likely next time I turn 18, then I'll know everything.

Thanks this will be handie, I know of what you speak.

Don

I can see it when reading a post but its not there under search on the main page.

Sorry...it is only in the forum, not on the home page. It is there on the main forum page.

A lot of us only use the Home page.

I have noticed the Search button on different pages do not have the same Search capability. Like for instance, the Search button on this page (making a post) does not have the Google search option.

Would be nice if the Search button was consistent on all pages.

Hey Don,

That kind of thinking is what makes this place special.

A great idea and very thoughtful!

I could not have said it any better - Thanks, Don.

Hey Don.

Congrats again on a great(er) looking site.

As for the 'unanswered posts' thingie - I had a quick look at them and thought about 5% of them sought a response - the rest sanctioned a tacit read only.

However - I suppose it's that 5% that should be entertained.

KUTGW.

OK...I'll work on getting them all the same. Maybe not today though.

Don that's not a priority. You need to take a break, you've been working way too much on this site. I do have a question though. Did you have your harley forum on the same server? Cause if so you must be totally wore out.

Thanks boss for a great job.

The Harley forum is still with the old host. It's not very busy so will do fine for now, maybe forever as dead as it is. :)

Do you need some of us to head over and liven it up for ya Don? I'm sure Yamamama, Mamamo, Cindy, and few others could pick up there pace a bit.

Yeah I still try to answer a post if no one answers it within a few hours.

Even if I don't know what they are talking about LOL.

Now adays with all the members I don't have to answer many with one of my stupid answers. There seems to be someone around that knows all the answers. ----and I mean that in a nice way---
