FROG MAN Posted May 11, 2008 #1 Posted May 11, 2008 Our local Yamaha dealer finally got a new venture on the showroom floor. We stopped yesterday and looked it over. It's gray ( not exactly my color ) but a very nice looking scoot. Normally he only stocked the goldwings as he is also a Honda and Suzuki dealer. Nice looking Hyabusa Suzuki setting beside it to. I'm still waiting on the 1800 V4 with FI.No plans for a new scoot until after I pay off some debt.
Eck Posted May 11, 2008 #2 Posted May 11, 2008 No plans for a new scoot until after I pay off some debt.. Like the security camera for your other property ..... Did you ever catch the culperits?
mini-muffin Posted May 11, 2008 #4 Posted May 11, 2008 Our dealer also got one of the new Ventures. He was gonna call us when it came in so we could take a look. He got it in on a saturday put it together that night. Stores closed on sunday and monday. He put it on the floor tuesday and somebody came in and bought it. So we didn't get to look at it. He seemed kinda surprised it sold so fast, actually so was I. Margaret

Ky. Rider Posted May 11, 2008 #6 Posted May 11, 2008 Dealers typically do not stock many RSV's which means they don't sell many. I was at one of our largest local Yamaha/Honda dealers last Thursday and not a venture on the floor. I told a top salesman that I really liked my RSV but noticed they don't stock or sell many. He said the reason they didn't sell was when potential customers sit on one and pulled it up off the kick stand the weight scared them. He said they are the best buy for the $ in touring bikes and personally likes the smooth ride and style but finds them hard to sell. Who knows, maybe he just doesn't push them. He sells lots of Wings. The Wing would be my second choice but I'll stick with my RSV.
Sleeperhawk Posted May 11, 2008 #7 Posted May 11, 2008 Saw the new ones here in Sumter, the dealer there has sold 3 already. He says he has sold more in the last 2 years than anytime since they came out in 99. He says women who have been riding the V-Star or other similiar type machines are the ones buying them.

I have YET to see a woman riding a 2nd gen Venture, not counting a triked Venture. And of course I dont mean as a passenger. Are there any on this website?
Yammer Dan Posted May 12, 2008 #9 Posted May 12, 2008 Warden said you could have a new one right? Yep she Did, Now If it was just a 1st GEN

Says she loves the bike and will not ride or operate any other. Her husband rode a HD. Also, not sure why a woman could not operate this bike. Granted most are not long legged enough, but this woman was about 5 11 Besides, most men that have one, drop it eventually

I never said they COULDNT operate one...but we all know that the 2gen is NOT designed for the shorter legged, feminine types...if shes 5 11 then she's in the minority of women..plain and simple. Most women are a bit shorter, and usually choose a bike based on ease of use, including saddle height, balance, lower COG, and sometimes, (say it aint so!) Looks! Well...I still havent MET one. If I do, I'll take a picture!
