greg_in_london Posted July 7, 2008 #26 Posted July 7, 2008 I play traditional (English, Irish and Scottish, depending on venue) music on the fiddle, check out www.greentrad.org.uk or www.thetirnanog.co.uk I also play the bagpipes - see www.pipinginlondon.co.uk I post on a bagpipe forum www.rmartin.proboards23.com and don't really think that I'd want to find another forum. I occasionally post on a couple of trad sites, but again, I'd rather be spannering, riding or playing. Go ahead with a group if you like, but riders of twenty five year old Yamaha touring motorcycles is a specialised enough group, without restricting it to those that also play music. Just my thoughts
Dragonslayer Posted July 9, 2008 #27 Posted July 9, 2008 Got to be more musicians, I might suggest changing name of thread to mention music instead of undefined social group.

Stratcat Posted July 9, 2008 Author #30 Posted July 9, 2008 Got to be more musicians, I might suggest changing name of thread to mention music instead of undefined social group. Yeah didn't think of it at the time but you make a good point!
Stratcat Posted July 9, 2008 Author #31 Posted July 9, 2008 I love to play every chance I get, usually in the clubs around here the bands will invite me up to do a couple of songs or at Karoke I'll get invited to accompany singers with the harp. Recently a guy heard me that has a recording studio and called me out of the blue to ask me if I would record the harmonica tracts on a CD they were producing. Soooooooooooooooooo, I spent one afternoon in the studio doing harp, background Vocals, and some spoken word tracts. It was a lot of fun. It probably won't make me rich or famous. But, I can now ad legitimately to my resume and business card: Recording Studio Artist along with: Emperior of The Universe Diabolical Genius Master of all I survey Published Author Legendary Lover Legend in my own mind Love it!
Stratcat Posted July 9, 2008 Author #32 Posted July 9, 2008 I would LOVE to see a Meet and Eat Jam session. I am in for that one. That would be awesome! We'll have to make it happen somewhere in the future. I have been taking Carson to Rock School on Saturdays on the bike. So I have figured out how to transport a guitar on it so I'm in!
