dueyk1111 Posted September 13, 2019 #1 Posted September 13, 2019 go'n down the road, set's just fine n works fine, but as soon as i hit a big bump it kicks itself off, then i get 4 flashes of the cruise lites. checked the manuel and it tells me that there is something wrong with the speed sensor. checked the wiring and plug ins. just don't know what to check next. any ideas.
RandyR Posted September 14, 2019 #2 Posted September 14, 2019 Any chance that you have leather fringes on your clutch and brake levers? If they flap enough they might put enough pressure on the sensors.
dueyk1111 Posted September 14, 2019 Author #3 Posted September 14, 2019 got nothing on the levers, have also pushed out on the levers and up on the foot brake, think'n the same thing you were. got me bewilderd. thats why i need fresh input. maybe my speed sensor is go'n bad but it shows no other problems:think:
Du-Rron Posted September 14, 2019 #4 Posted September 14, 2019 (edited) go'n down the road, set's just fine n works fine, but as soon as i hit a big bump it kicks itself off, then i get 4 flashes of the cruise lites. checked the manuel and it tells me that there is something wrong with the speed sensor. checked the wiring and plug ins. just don't know what to check next. any ideas. Fault code "4" would point towards "speed sensor". Check wiring, check speed sensor, etc... The wiring may be there but check up and down its entire length for breaks, If nothing found... check ALL wiring to cruise control unit. Edited September 14, 2019 by Du-Rron
slowrollwv Posted September 14, 2019 #5 Posted September 14, 2019 If your clutch and or brake levers are worn they can shake and kick the cruise off. Mine clutch handle wore out and I had to replace the switch also.
Sylvester Posted September 14, 2019 #6 Posted September 14, 2019 Try riding with your fingers behind the clutch pushing outward, then do the same with the front brake and of course with cruise on. May tell a story.
dueyk1111 Posted September 15, 2019 Author #7 Posted September 15, 2019 all ready rid'n with my hands behind the levers with pressure, still goes off on the same bumps!
