Enable the headset plug on 2018 Star Venture TC

I have a month old 2018 Star Venture TC with a J&M ELITE 801 SERIES HELMET HEADSET. I cannot get anything out of the audio plug let alone use voice. There must be some setting I haven't made correctly. Does anyone know this system well enough to help me through this. Since I'm 76, and so far I've written this off to motorcycle dementia. I can take instructions though. My old V-Star 1100 was nothing like this Venture.

OK...the first thing is to make sure that your headsets are selected. You can select both external speaker and headsets. Here is how you do it.

 

First, click on the "Music" icon from your screen.

 

 

Next, click on the "Settings" button.

 

 

Next, click on the down arrow to get to the next page.

 

 

Now click on the "Audio Output: button.

 

 

Last, select the output for sources that you wish to hear through the headset and/or speakers. Notice that your have selections for from and rear headsets as well as external speakers.

Another reason might be what I had. My j&m cord had a pin missing at the connection. J&M replaced it.

It could be. Or try to check the female connection and clean it with a qtip.
