Papa Fred Posted February 8, 2021 #26 Posted February 8, 2021 Never mind.....I went back a little further in the posts and saw Scribz post about his install.
djh3 Posted February 9, 2021 #27 Posted February 9, 2021 When I did the Mr Gasket (similar pump) I put in same location as OEM. However I did some replumbing and added and ez to change filter.
Du-Rron Posted February 9, 2021 #28 Posted February 9, 2021 (edited) To try and clear this up..... I do not work for Facet or Edelbrock. The Edelbrock 17303 fuel pump is an in-line rotor and vane pump and DOES NOT HAVE A CHECK VALVE OR POSITIVE SHUTOFF. Click Here for Edelbrock 17303 specs The Edelbrock 17303 is a pump style similar to the Facet Posi-Flo series of pumps which also does not have a check valve or positive shut off Click Here for Facet Posi-Flow fuel pump The Facet fuel pump you want that does have a check valve and a positive shutoff is the Model # 40178 Click Here For Facet CUBE Pump Edited February 9, 2021 by Du-Rron
Papa Fred Posted February 10, 2021 #29 Posted February 10, 2021 Thanks Du-Ron...you confirmed a phone conversation I had yesterday with Edelbrock....neither have a check-valve. The rep I talked with didn't come out and actually SAY this was a cheap pump, but in effect he was telling me they were a low-end quality item. The Facet looks like the right choice if "pointless" is the preferred direction. I'll get a set of replacement points for the OEM and keep it as a backup.
