My big issue with the new Venture GPS is that you can not:

1. Save a location while out riding and store it for future reference

2. The lack of inputting locations and naming them

3. There is an option to Import way-points. This is not an import. The device just reads the file from the flash drive.

4. Way too many extra steps when putting in an address.

I found a work around that has made it easier to manage some favorites.

This involves :

1. Google Maps --- Search your destination - Select directions and copy the URL

2. Maps to GPX -- https://mapstogpx.com/ Paste the copied URL in the box

To make it easy to find, Check the Route Name box and name it

The GPS looks for a folder in the root of the flash drive named GPX.

Create a folder named GPX and save all the files in that folder.

The GPS will give you a couple of options. My choice is always the end point.

I hope someone find this helpful.

Boy the few threads I have read on forums, it is almost like someone tried hard to make the unit hard to operate. From day one with the firmware update on.

Thank you! I have tried other apps: "Ride with GPS" and "MyRoute-app" and the GPX reader "TrailRunner mini — GPX Viewer" in combination with my Mac, seem to have been responsible for the main page "locking up" on my 2018 SVTC. "Navigation not ready" remained on the screen until I performed "delete all personal data", twice....

I began to experience issues shortly after uploading a GPX file, and within an hour, the main screen would not move from "Nav. not ready" The GPS knew it's location the: the street and speed continued to display on all pages that it should have, but I could not create a new destination or see the Nav "Home" page.

So when you select "End Point" it will start navigating to the end point through all the way points you have set up in Googlemaps? I saw that option but when I did that it just sent me straight to the end point and that was it. So I was curious how to set up the entire route . . . I am leaving for Colorado this weekend and would like to set up a few routes to put on a thumbdrive.

Try changing your gps to scenic route. I believe it defaults to fastest route.

I'll check that but I would have thought since I had 10 different way points that it would have followed those a priority but I'll try that, thanks.
