I took the bike out yesterday. 50 miles without so much as a hiccup.

I'm guessing the fuel filter was the primary problem. So far, so good though.

One additional thought about the fuel filter. You said you ran it out of gas.....well...probably picked up some crud at the bottom of the tank. Don't be surprised if this happens again. Do suggest you take the tank off and clean it out.

You might want to carry another new filter along with you...just in case.

 

Regarding electrical. Ignition switch, emergency shut off switch and high/low beam switch can all cause similar issues. My vote is either an electrical shorted wire that's intermittent, a bad ground, the main fuse contacts, or a dirty switch.

P.S. Pictures of the bike would be appreciated....ahem! (it's kind of a rule around here for a new scoot)
