venture1 Posted May 6, 2008 #1 Posted May 6, 2008 Me and Mrs went for a ride tonight and found out that my headsets, will receive the radio but will not transmit our voices, any ideas , can't see any loose wires!
calperin Posted May 6, 2008 #2 Posted May 6, 2008 What model of headset do you have? Also, what kind of radio do you have? I don't think that you have both microphones disconnected. Regards,
BuddyRich Posted May 6, 2008 #3 Posted May 6, 2008 When you say radio are you talking CB or intercom ?
SledgeHammer Posted May 6, 2008 #4 Posted May 6, 2008 Did you check your IC to make sure the volume was up on it?
venture1 Posted May 6, 2008 Author #5 Posted May 6, 2008 Not exactly sure what model , however it is the standard headset to fit a open face helmets , my radio is the standard radio on a 04 RSMV, the stupid part is it was working fine last fall when we put the bic away!
calperin Posted May 6, 2008 #6 Posted May 6, 2008 It seems that your mics are disconnected. That can be on the helmets, on the connectors, or on your wiring reaching the radio connectors. If you have a friend with same bike and helmet, check using your helmet on his bike. Check your connectors. Test your volume, and your squelch to be sure that the CB squelch is not over your intercom level. Let us know.
venture1 Posted May 6, 2008 Author #7 Posted May 6, 2008 I just went and tried my IC volume and sure enough , it was turned down way to low , another case of operator error . Thanks for the info folks. I have been having trouble trying to figure out , the cb as well , not sure if it should be turned down when listning to music or what
BuddyRich Posted May 6, 2008 #8 Posted May 6, 2008 Having the CB turned down is up to you. Chatter and intermitten noise will override the am/fm. I leave mine off unless riding in a group of other riders who have a cb radio.
sarges46 Posted May 6, 2008 #9 Posted May 6, 2008 We gotta meet for a coffee and go over a few things on the bike. I just live up the road from you and we do travel to Souris often for icecream! Currently on days off.
venture1 Posted May 9, 2008 Author #10 Posted May 9, 2008 Hope to meet up with you this summer Rick, I will be watching for a 86 or a 05 I got a 04 RSMV Regards Larry
