rbig1 Posted June 13, 2019 #1 Posted June 13, 2019 Well it quit running on 80.sitting in a tow truck. On 80 mile marker 121.6
rbig1 Posted June 13, 2019 Author #6 Posted June 13, 2019 Well the fuel pump isn't pumping going to test it in the morning see if it has power. In the morning
ragtop69gs Posted June 14, 2019 #7 Posted June 14, 2019 Mr. Gasket 12S pump will work, Autozone in Sturgis has them in stock according to their web site. Pull the fuse for stock pump and plumb in the new pump, hook up power to a switched 12V source and you're good to go.
RandyR Posted June 14, 2019 #8 Posted June 14, 2019 I seem to recall someone in an old post just by-passed the fuel pump with hose and as long as he kept the tank over half full, he was able to ride.
Marcarl Posted June 14, 2019 #9 Posted June 14, 2019 I seem to recall someone in an old post just by-passed the fuel pump with hose and as long as he kept the tank over half full, he was able to ride. Yep,, so it's been said.
Condor Posted June 14, 2019 #10 Posted June 14, 2019 Two things... If the pump is non-op take the two fuel line leads off and connect them. I carry a rt. angle 5/16" fitting for that. Auto Supply store... Or if you're feeling frisky remove the cover of the pump file.. scrape.. the crud from between the point gap. That should get you running again... If it doesn't refer back to #1.... Good Luck
uhfradarwill Posted June 14, 2019 #12 Posted June 14, 2019 Well good luck on your bike and take heart, I saw a nice electroglide in the median strip on I-495 parked with no one around getting hammered by a torrential downpour today at lunch. Will

Either way though Rodney,, GLAD to read you got er back up and running!! I think he is CTFW due to frustration. That breakdown is hard on a lot of riders. Getting home brings normalcy to life. At home you can deal with it at your convenience. I know that from the last week of frustration, not having control of the situation. You know what I am talking about my brother.
rbig1 Posted June 14, 2019 Author #16 Posted June 14, 2019 made it home. No it just came down to low cash funds by the time i paid the wrecker. Which there was no way around. then the motel and stuff from parts store which I only used one piece. I pulled in to home with 10.00 left. lol. I wasent kidding about shoestring budget. Have a blast at freebirds there is next time I hope. I need to thank mike for the offer of loan. But taking that wouldnt be right in my book. Totally good people.
WRIDR Posted June 15, 2019 #18 Posted June 15, 2019 Understand the Frustration, AND admire your Principals, Bud. Good on ya. Rgds, WRIDR
