gear whine

I was so happy 6 weeks ago when i traded my 1100 for my 04 RSV. it was the last bike i'll need. Well now i want to get rid of it, the noise ruins my ride. has anyone tried wraping the lower end in insulation? Will yamaha give me a I basket and i'll install it. i don't want to pay for a fix that won't work. has anyone tried filing the gears? if i can't fix this i'm getting a HD. dissapointed.........

Since your bike is an 04, you should be able to get the I basket replaced under warranty.
