uhfradarwill Posted April 21, 2019 #1 Posted April 21, 2019 My wife's sister had a double mastectomy two years ago to try to thwart cancer. After the operation she got better only to find that the cancer had spread to her sternum. After removing much of it she felt better. Around 60 days ago she was feeling faint, confused and generally weak. Test confirmed that the cancer had spread to the upper spinal cord just below the back of her head. They elected not to operate. Our family just spent 45 days watching her die slowly while on Hospice. She finally passed on 3/15/2019. Her name was Linda and was a 25+ year nurse. I'm sure she is in heaven. Please pray for her and excuse my absence from these forums. God bless. Will
Freebird Posted April 21, 2019 #2 Posted April 21, 2019 So sorry for your loss. I have been through several similar scenarios over the past few years and it's just a horrible way for a loved one to leave us. Please know that you and your family are in our hearts and prayers.
Marcarl Posted April 21, 2019 #3 Posted April 21, 2019 Sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure that dealing with your sister's illness was a heartbreaking experience for you and your wife and family, and then in the end to have to say goodbye and admit defeat on the battle was also very difficult. My prayer is that she is with our heavenly Father and that someday we will all meet again in perfection, never to be separated again.
cecdoo Posted April 21, 2019 #4 Posted April 21, 2019 Very sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like she gave it a good fight, and helped many people over the years. Guess it was her time, hopefully they kept her comfortable in the end. All the best, Craig
