Harddrv1 Posted April 19, 2019 #1 Posted April 19, 2019 (edited) Yeah Hello all been awhile since I was here, winters are long and harsh here in Alberta so haven’t done much on my bike since last here. I hate to double post but my last thread was more about an idea to restore my bike via 3D printing here https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?137341-3d-printing-replacement-fairing-and-parts&p=1045382#post1045382. Anyway that idea hasn’t panned out well and now I can’t even get my printer going so I decided to go another route. It’s been a slow process as I am still learning a lot but I hope to be up and running soon, I decided to come in here and share with you guys in stead of raging out after snapping my clutch level off in a poor attempt to straighten it sigh... here is a photo of the add I purchased this bike for $250 CAD it did come with the bags and I was planning to keep them however they were in fairly ruff shape. here I begin tear down some of these pics were on other thread but felt i should put them all together as you can see it was in pretty bad shape This is where I attempt to repair the fairing But they were just so bad and it was my first attempt at body work For got how to edit on this site lol been kinda of a relearning period so bear with me lol, any way this is that clutch lever I damaged trying to straighten sigh... This is the damaged sifter I have yet to repair This is How im securing my tail lights at the momemt this is temporary as budget permits I may swap out this entire rear end changing the rear fender etc some more photos showing some cable management etc Test fitting of the headlight test fitting of the new side Panels (I may replace these as well but this gets me on the road this summer Well Im all caught up now I think Till I get back out the the shop and finish assembly Edited April 21, 2019 by Harddrv1

Or does it serve a purpose?? Hmm anyway ty I’ll be reading tonight I guess Not sure what happened I answered but it didn't post,,, So if it is what I mentioned there will be a hose attached to the bottom from the crankcase! Then yes if you wish you can delete it and perhaps sell or offer it up... It prevents oil from entering the air box is all.

Harddrv1 Posted April 22, 2019 Author #12 Posted April 22, 2019 So 1 more stupid question but does anyone know if I can replace current clutch with something like this https://www.ebay.ca/itm/22mm-lever-Handle-Hydraulic-clutch-Brake-Pump-Master-Cylinder-Motorcycle/142684245982?var=441669940587&hash=item2138a4cfde:g:eWcAAOSwoBlaep7Z it says only up to 500cc but looks similar not sure though if it holds enough fluid and weather or not the banjo bolt is the same, thanks again Gould be the last stupid question for awhile.
luvmy40 Posted April 22, 2019 #14 Posted April 22, 2019 OP, The plastic box in the above picture looks to be the YICS chamber to me. It will have four hoses that go to vacuum ports on the heads. It can be removed and the ports capped.

Harddrv1 Posted April 22, 2019 Author #17 Posted April 22, 2019 Major setback on my build Yamaha dealer tells me after market clutch won’t work I need a Yamaha venture clutch, boo guess I’ll have to keep an eye out. Anyone happen to find any aftermarket alternatives?? I did see a few on eBay that look similar but dealer says it won’t work?
luvmy40 Posted April 22, 2019 #18 Posted April 22, 2019 Are you talking about the clutch master cylinder? The clutch slave cylinder? Or the friction clutch assembly it's self? There are a plethora of Venture master cylinders, both clutch and brakes on ebay and the clutch slave is still available new from Yamaha and most vendors(partzilla, boats.net, etc.) PM skydoc_17 here. he may have everything you need.

I broke the lever and failed at removing the screws from the reservoir they both snapped off 😞

luvmy40 Posted April 23, 2019 #22 Posted April 23, 2019 (edited) Any Gen 1(1983-1993{?}) clutch master cylinder should work. The front brake masters are different MKI to MKII but are backward compatible. Edited May 6, 2019 by luvmy40 corrected date?
Harddrv1 Posted April 23, 2019 Author #23 Posted April 23, 2019 (edited) Hmm eBay says these will work https://www.ebay.ca/itm/22mm-Motorcycle-Brake-Clutch-Master-Cylinder-For-Honda-Yamaha-Suzuki-Kawasaki/202464432081?fits=Model%3AVenture&hash=item2f23d20fd1:g:sS8AAOSwDYxbvyIf but then again I tried on a few I knew wouldn’t and a couple of them said it would work too such as the ones for 1” handlebars, even tried a couple that looked exactly the same 1 set said it would fit the other said no. This is so confusing. Edited April 23, 2019 by Harddrv1
Patch Posted April 23, 2019 #24 Posted April 23, 2019 You are building a bobber, why are you stuck on a clutch? If you can't use there search then send an email they will respond.
Harddrv1 Posted April 24, 2019 Author #25 Posted April 24, 2019 So haven’t felt great the last few days, all I could really do was stay in side search the net for my clutch☹️, anyway got out there for a few min today messed around with my rats Nest of wires lol, I had originally tried to hide the fall over sensor, reserve lighting unit, and canceiling unit behind my head light but I still have a mess of wires to deal with I thought I could get by till phase 2 but meh. I am now thinking about moving my coils to the front of the engine like on zaggers build and stuffing the electronics in where the coils go. So many decisions that or eliminating them, also plan to move the ignition to the side. Anyway here’s what I’m talking about.
