Guest 05RSMVTEXAN Posted February 9, 2007 #1 Posted February 9, 2007 I have a 05 RSTD and I purchased a Venture trunk off an 05 Venture. Is it possible, or has anyone mounted one to their RSTD? I'd appreciate any tips, advise, and just general help. Thanks
Tartan Terror Posted February 9, 2007 #2 Posted February 9, 2007 shouldn't be a problem. Did you get all the supports with it. Bikes are the same and if you got everything it should just bolt on. maybe a few others will chime it but I know at least a few that have dont that already.
BradT Posted February 9, 2007 #3 Posted February 9, 2007 Wpredock, I think did this and I think he mumbled something about a pain in the Butt, with all the parts required to add the trunk. BEst of luck. Brad
geresti Posted February 9, 2007 #4 Posted February 9, 2007 You need to get the venture rack that mounts perfectly to the rstd. I mounted a Harley King Tour Pak to mine and all you have to do is grind off the pin on each side which leaves a hole in the right spot and the other hole has a chrome plug on it that you take off. You'll need to get the bolts from yamaha and a 2nuts for the bolts that go where the quick release pin was. You'll have to mount the rack to the side piece first unless you weld the new nuts on. If you have anymore questions feel free to email bob@gerestimusic.com
Stoutman Posted February 9, 2007 #5 Posted February 9, 2007 You need to get the venture rack that mounts perfectly to the rstd.... I would like to know a bit more about this venture rack you are referring to. Do you have a part number, or a web link you could share?
BuddyRich Posted February 9, 2007 #6 Posted February 9, 2007 Its number 1 http://parts.yamaha-motor.com/partimage.gifx?d=82774,2,0
Yammy Posted February 11, 2007 #7 Posted February 11, 2007 I wonder if you could modify your sissy bar, which would mean cutting it. But, the bonus would be a removable trunk Mark
