Floods in my Area

Well we got an inland hurricane that turned our 10" of ice and snow into water. On top of that we've gotten a couple inches of rain and its been so cold that the ground is still frozen. Theres a dam about 100 miles west of us on the Niobrara called the Spencer Dam that burst from all the water and Ice and the bridge on highway 281 has been swept away. Rode that road many times on the way to the black hills. Its one of my favorite bridges that I can think of. Its gonna be crazy to see everything the next time I go up there.

 

We almost had catastrophic flooding here in wayne, but luckily our creek didn't over flow. My mom and dad had flooding up to their house but I think they're dry. They've evacuated most of their town of Randolph, and a third of Norfolk has been evacuated

Y'all be safe out there, we are dealing with high winds since yesterday and tornadoes this morning. Lots of damage to houses, businesses, and a mall. A church housing a daycare took damage, a grain bin knocked a truck off the road, and several wrecks. No major injuries miraculously. It's part of the same storm that hit y'all.

Y'all be safe out there, we are dealing with high winds since yesterday and tornadoes this morning. Lots of damage to houses, businesses, and a mall. It was an inland hurricane they said. There are some areas around here that have just been ravaged by the flooding, but that wind can be something else. I've seen tons of pictures of tipped semis on the news. It's just nuts

Started noticing this a few years back, but WE think the 'Wind Factor' is getting progressively worse.

 

Currently things have reached a point where the number of Days it's safe to launch our wee 12' "Meat Hunter" are becoming quite rare. That's a shame cuz we love our little 30 yr old Barge, and not much can beat it for slow speed control.

 

Hope it's simply a 'Cycle' we're passing thru, but if so, it would be nice if the Cycle is a Short One.~

Was crazy weather for sure. Hope everyone is safe. Things can be replaced but people can't. At one time they would say this type of event was a once in a century storm...but storms are becoming more severe.

One thing you can say about this flood is that people are still here to help. Unfortunately, this gentleman lost his life trying to get to a stranded stranger.

I still think he's the only loss of life because of this so far, but places along the niobrara river and the missouri are getting pounded again like they did in 2011.

I just got home from a 3000 mile trip out to Billings Montana. We left central Fl Sat morning. By our second day out we saw the weather was turning bad so we made as much time as we could with the "bomb storm" bearing down. WE made it to Billings Tue and Wed The almost exact route we took up from Tx thru Colorado got blasted. Roads closed and all that. It looked bad as it moved east. Hope you all are OK.
