Hello all,

New member here with a problem with the air suspension on my newly purchased 2002 RSV

I've had a search but can't find anything that matches the problem...

Whilst checking all the pressures in tyres and suspension I took advice from this site and went to put the rear shock at 35psi (it was at 25)

one pump on the small hand pump I was using... The bike dropped...

Checked the PSI it was at 0...

I put more air in... It seems now to drop in psi slowly

I've checked for oil leaks around the shock and I can't see anything

Is there anywhere in between the schrader valve and the shock where an air leak could occur?

I've taken the bike for a short ride and it seems to handle fine (even over speed humps and sharp corners)

Bit stumped really

Thanks in advance for any help

First thing I would check is the Schrader valve itself. Make sure the core is tight. Then the connections behind the valve and at the shock. If nothing is leaking there, you may well have a bad shock. You say it's not leaking oil but maybe there is none left to leak. It may well have a blown seal. Haven't see that happen often but if a previous owner tried to air out up with a air compressor, it would be easy to do. Only a hand pump like a Progressive shock pump should be used.

Thank you for your responses..

I think this is simply down to the pump I'm using... I've ordered the proper tools for the job..

If I don't respond again.. That was the problem..

Thanks again
