Hey guys, I believe the solenoids in my CLASS system are working sluggishly. The front works just fine, and there are no leaks in the front or the rear, but when I inflate the rear it goes up really, really slowly, slow enough to cause an error code if i let it do it automatically, but sometimes i believe the solenoid opens up all the way and the air goes in just like its supposed to..

 

I thought I read a how-to on cleaning them a long time ago, but cant seem to find any info on it now. I've got the trunk off the bike so i figure while its off i'll dry the dessicant and clean the solenoids if possible.

 

Have any of you guys done this?

There are 3 off them on one bank. Take them apart carefully, the screws tent to find hiding places where no eye has seen, and the little springs inside tend to hop off with the easter bunnie. Once apart and all the parts are safe and secure, clean things up, and check the the seats where the rubber on the end of the plunger sits. If it's rough, put some fine steel wool on the end of a small wood dowel (don't use a drill bit) inserted into a variable drill and carefully polish the seat, then reinstall all the parts, no lubricant ( it will only collect dust). There is another solenoid in the exhaust line that also needs to be cleaned as well as the intake filter that is in the intake line (really?). It is in the rubber line and will pop apart easily.

Awesome! Thank you so much! I'm really gonna get into it tomorrow cuz i gotta go to work in a few hours and its supposed to be in the 40s tomorrow! I guess @Flyinfool is gonna revving up his white wash machine and pelt our state with up to 16" next weekend!

I cleaned up the 3 solenoid block but I'm not entirely sure I'm seeing the other two solenoids you're talking about. I see a finter on the intake side of things but I'll look again in a bit

After taking the solenoid block apart again and determining that it seals up very well and works properly I decided there must be a leak in the system BEFORE the solenoid block. I took warm soapy water and sprayed everything down and wouldn't ya know I found a leak on the compressor! Right where the intake and exhaust hose manifold goes onto the compressor block the air was escaping so I took it apart thinking there would be a gasket, but it turns out theres like a read valve and an o-ring. So I'm warming the truck up now to run over and get an O-Ring kit.

 

For now i flipped the oring and pumped up the system this time and while its still leaking its much, much faster at airing up the shocks. Hopefully this licked the problem!
