Rteondaha Posted December 18, 2018 #1 Posted December 18, 2018 Hi all.Has anyone fitted 412's to their sportster? I've been looking at upgrading but there seems to be loads of different types, no idea which are the right ones for my bike or where the best place is to get them. I'm after black but I've seen ones with no top caps other with top caps, different lengths 11" to 13". I've taken the missus on the back but the stock suspension was rubbish 2 up so hoping the 412's will be better although she only comes on every now and again and can just take her on the bandit but she feels safer on the Harley. Thanks in advance for any advice
dfitzbiz Posted December 18, 2018 #2 Posted December 18, 2018 Good Morning Clive and welcome to Venturerider.org. You will find answers to almost any question you may have about the Yamaha Venture, Royal Star Venture and RSTD on this site. Some info may be available concerning Gold Wings and Spyders and maybe a little about Harley touring motorcycles. With the hundreds of years of motorcycling experience available here someone may have an answer to your Sportster question. Please don't think we are rude if we don't reply, we just don't play a lot in your sand box. Thanks for taking a look, stick around, this is a great bunch of cyclists. If you're interested in attending a rally check out the WNY (Western New York) rally on the calendar for Aug 15-Aug 18, 2019. Great time and attended by many of our Canadian friends.

You don't say what Year or Model Sportster you have so I don't know stock shock length to help you pick a length. I know most standard height Sportsters of the 90's and 00's used a 12" shock and the air-adjustable touring shocks are a direct replacement that can be had on the used market for a good price.
