YamahaLarry Posted December 8, 2018 #1 Posted December 8, 2018 but I just came across it on Facebook. They said Muskegon, so I assume this was up in your neck of the woods. The post was made on Nov 29th, but looks much earlier due to the weather, cause I know it's like sub zero weather up there now. https://www.facebook.com/lifeofarider/videos/272355743481387/
leroy Posted December 9, 2018 #3 Posted December 9, 2018 Awesome. BTW Cowpuc, how did your "super tire" experiment turn out?

That story is,,, lets see here,,, at least 2 years old if my recollect is correct ... A really good friend of mine named Matt Luna (use to be President of our local bike club - Muskegon Motorcycle Club, raced against him MANY times, road wheelies next to him many times, sold MANY bike parts to him over the years for building Custom hill climb bikes, ect ect.) is the shaved bald headed guy (Matt dont come by his shine naturally like I do ) who is taking Wayne the Veteran for the ride in the side car. When EVER we have something like this going on in our area, ESPECIALLY doings concerning Veterans - WE LOVE TO HONOR OUR VETS!!! - it turns into a HUGE outing and this one was definitely a big deal!! The spot that this was filmed is about 2 miles from our home, right in behind our local "Mr. Quicks" hamburger joint where us hardcore, real deal bikers hang out. Side note,, Matt is very familiar with our communities love for making wishes come true... His daughter had a rare form of Cancer and, thru the Make A Wish program, ended up becoming our "Princes For A Day" that involved taking over our cities main street where our annual 4 day mini Sturgis "Bike Week" is held and I happen to know for a fact that 95% of those people seen in that video attended her celebration too - I am almost positive that Wayne the Veteran was part of that celebration of life too because I am almost sure I remember seeing him there.. WOWZY Larry.. GOOD FIND BROTHER!! Made my day! THANKS! Puc
cowpuc Posted December 9, 2018 #5 Posted December 9, 2018 Awesome. BTW Cowpuc, how did your "super tire" experiment turn out? That came out FANTASTIC @leroy!! Got a cross country trip to the west coast and back on it and still looking like new actually! I checked it when we got home and it looked like no more than 1/32 of rubber loss . My health ended up costing us a lot of ride time this year and we ended up finishing out our travels (still not over for the season) with a new car we bought when we got home from out west (bought a new Hyundai Ionic that gets 60 mpg and we can sleep in it - long story but it is AWESOME fun!!) so it is probably going to take us a few years to actually see the carcass on it/find out how many miles its actually capable of but, INDEED,, that Super Tire is nothing short of SUPER!! I have no reason to doubt that Dunlops claim of 6x coast to coast on 1 tire is correct. *** My ONLY concern that I feel like I need to share here is that, at least from my experience with that dual compound E-4, they are NOT a side of the road, spoon off, spoon on tire. While very impressive wear and ride wise,, if you are one that does your own tire swappin and/or like to be self reliant on those spoons in case of an emergency,, FORGET IT with these!! The E-4 is, again = IMHO, is a tire machine ONLY tire.. Other than that,, WOWZY what a honkin honk of tire!!

And like you we support our veterans as well and I personally do a lot for childhood cancer. so your story hits home with me. Just last week I lead a ride for Make-A-Wish (and Toys for Tots). We had 97 bikes and joined up with a cruise in style car show. At the end of the day, we filled a truck with toys plus raised over 7K for Make-A-Wish of Alabama. I gotta find my way to Muskegon some day.

The E-4 is, again = IMHO, is a tire machine ONLY tire.. Other than that,, WOWZY what a honkin honk of tire!! Good to hear about the tire. Hope your health issue isn't permanent or at least not serious. I have a low mileage E3 on the front of my RSV. It replaced an E3 at 19,000 mi as heading out on a trip. Had E3 on the rear, got good miles, 15,000 miles. Almost all of the miles were highway with touring load and/or two up. Had to go with a Commander II on the rear this last time as needed it a hurry and all they had. I'll go with the E4 before spring as replacement. I do have an E4 on the rear of my VTX1300 but it only has about 4000 miles on it. No real experience with its longevity. I don't like to replace tires but I am curious how many miles I'll get out of it. The Commander IIs on the rear of VTX were lasting me 14,000 + miles loaded & highway miles. Since I bought the RSV I usually don't load up the VTX for long trips, most are regional or day rides so I may not wear it out.
