Ehrich, you need to bring that puppy over to Freebirds on June 7th, plenty of folks to ride with, you got a couple up by South Bend that are coming over the tollway....... Might as well go into that (our) pool head first!!!!

Yeah, I totally agree about most Harley's, having ridden an Electra Glide for two days. What I meant to say was, I personally would be less willing to ride, sight unseen, an 8 yr old Harley than I would a Yamaha.

 

Believe me, could I also afford a Harley, I'd have one of those too!

Heck, I would NOT ride a new one that far . I ride with several HD riders and have yet to make it through a whole trip without something going wrong on one of their bikes; Tail lights quit, module died, bolts fell out of the mufflers, blown fuses, etc, etc, etc. I think the only thing that has ever happened to me was the Dead Battery this past Saturday. I think it might have been the original on my 2003, so I wasn't too upset.

Don't get me wrong, I ABSOLUTELY love the HD look and sound, and they have some great merchandising to go along with it, but for ME I don't think I could let go of the $$$ compared to the quality.

I would have no problem buying a Harley unseen and riding it home. In fact, I did just that a few years ago. I found an '86 FXRD on the Internet. I flew from Dallas to Tulsa, OK and bought it and rode it home. Nowhere near 1,000 miles but still a decent haul on an unseen bike. It was perfect and I had a great ride. Only kept the bike for about a year but never had any problem at all with it. I never had to work on it and it was never in the shop for any reason. I only wish I had kept it AND bought the RSV.

Always keep this in mind: You NEVER see a salvage yard full of old harleys...can you say the same about these metrics?

I remembered my old one turning like that but I just dealt with it. When I got this one it needed tires and I wanted to try the Avon's on it. Co-worker had put them on his Valk IS and it woke that bike up.

 

Wanted the WWW and it doesn't come in our size. Did some reading on here and Delphi about the smaller front tire. Decided to go with it and love it. Makes those turns and slow speed handling much better. Some like it, some won't do it.
