Need Help Please and Ty

Ok so new here today actually and I'm new to the Venture world. I have a 1983 Yamaha Venture XVZ12 I was wondering can anyone tell me how to find out what model I have? As I know my VIN, and Ik my engine serial number, but when I called Yamaha USA they said it was not an American bike but Idk how that can be as I purchased it in America and it's Liscense and Titled in America. Basically they said JYA41 or JYA47 is American and mine is JYA26 and that's not American so I'm really frustrated as idk how to get my Model code. Thanks again Redwolf

Suggest you do 2 things:

 

1: add your vin to this database...(may have to talk to Prairiehammer about this as well)

In the meantime, search the older posts for "USA bike", "Not a US made bike", "title issues" or something similar...keep trying. You aren't the first with an unknown VIN/title issue if my memory serves!

I'm sorry I can't help as that type of stuff is not something I have knowledge of...

As I scroll down the thread, I saw a number of bikes with vins that start like yours. I'm beginning to think maybe the person you talked to didn't know what they were doing....or all these bikes are non-usa bikes...
