uncledj Posted October 31, 2018 #1 Posted October 31, 2018 Saw this on Craigslist. I dunno, but I wonder if someone needing a wheelchair should be riding a bike.....???? Anyhoo, I thought it was interesting. https://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/d/1983-honda-goldwing-with/6725020956.html
sydem Posted October 31, 2018 #2 Posted October 31, 2018 I saw something similar in our neck of the woods years ago and thought "good for you". They produce cars to be driven by handicapped people, why not bikes?
Flyinfool Posted October 31, 2018 #3 Posted October 31, 2018 It might be a real attention getter to see a bike going down the road with no driver. As long as there is some kind of a locking mechanism to hold the chair and driver from moving, and all of the safety stuff works, I don't see why not.
Kretz Posted October 31, 2018 #4 Posted October 31, 2018 People who use wheelchairs aren't necessarily "bound" to them. I've seen many people who can't walk get out of their truck or car & maneuver themselves into a wheelchair for shopping etc. I saw one invalid recently with a small crane on the back of his PU truck for lifting his wheelchair. Nothing wrong imo with an invalid riding a bike & then needing to use a wheelchair for mobility. He she will ride the bike & then transition to the chair when needed. Good on him or her!
Chaharly Posted November 2, 2018 #5 Posted November 2, 2018 Bike will need carb work as it has sat several years Nothing wrong with the bike
