My lower cowl was starting to look pretty sad, so I decided to give it a rattle can paint job and changed the color to black to match the lower portion of the bike. What do you think. I have a spare in the factory OEM color, so I can swap back if I decode I do not like the black or the paint does not hold up to road abuse.

Not the best pictures but the change should be obvious.

Thanks

Small changes like those personalize our machines. Looks good, and there is some cool rattle can colors out there now. I like the "metal" look stuff. They have it in a silver, black, bronze and a few others,

For a clear coat I like the 2K two part. I think Eastwood makes one of the two part clear coats as well. I painted my whole Vmax this way and it's been a few years and the clear coat is fantastic. It's more reminiscent of a factory paint job then something someone like me did with rattle cans. IMHO the two part clear coat is a must for a vehicle finish that will be exposed to the elements.

I dig what you've done there!

Thanks all,

I actually did put a clear coat on it, so we will just see how it goes, hope to get her out this weekend for a bit of riding and the Daytona Biketoberfest activities.

I think that it looks great, but keep in mind that my neighbor lady looked great from across the street. :)

Yes, a wise old electrician I worked with many years ago gave me some very good advice, "They all look good from the other side of the street." Sage advice to be sure. :)
