This guy has these on ebay all the time, usually end up going for around 250. Great exhaust system, never had one but heard they are nice. Just watch it for another week. It will go up.

I've been watching these mufflers on and off all winter. They usually sell for between $230 and $280. I'm waiting for them to go for less than that as the stock mufflers are working fine. I'm also curious how loud they are because I have always prefered my bikes to run quiet.

I Installed The Jardine Exhausts On My 87' Vr Recenty, They Are Somewhat Louder Than Stock, The Quality Of The Chrome Is Excellent! In Fact It Is So Good It Makes The Chrome On The Rest Of The Bike Look A Bit Shabby. So Far, I Have Not Had To Rejet The Carbs., And I Did Notice An Increase In Throttle Responce, I.e. The Bike Winds Up Quicker. The Power Increase Was Modest. I Can Still Hear The Radio, But Can't Hear The Tranny Whine Anymore. If You Enjoy The Wisper Smooth Ride Of The First Gen. Vr Then These Are Probley Not The Pipes For You. If On The Other Hand You Would Like To Add A Little "thump" To The Sound Of Your Vr Then These Pipes, In My Opinion Would Be A Good Choice. I Got Mine From The Guy On Ebay In Early Winter For $195 Plus Shipping, They Were A Snap To Install, The Only Problem I Have Had With Them Is The Centerstand Rubber Cushions Push The Stand Down About 15 Degrees And The Stand Drags Slightly During A Turn When I Am Two Up.

For all you 1stGen owners that are planning...or thinking about going the aftermarket route, I'll be starting a MAC Muffler group buy in a couple of weeks. We've done this a couple of times in the past, and it's been a good experience for everyone.

I have had a set of Jardines for about nine years on my 83 and they still look very good. They have gotten a little louder but to me they sound great. They kinda sound like a small block Chevy engine with glass packs under wide open throttle. I would recomend them highly unless you are looking for a quiet bike, then stay stock. I like my hot rod.

I had the Jardines on my '85. Good lookin and great sound; however, I did find it a bit annoying (at times). Seems to me I paid around $380 back in 2000 when I bought them.

I couldn't find the file here on the board, so I'll try to up load it again. And I'd really like to hear what the Jardines sound like if anyone has something they can post???

Nice Job Condor, but i think there is a Baffle loose in the Collector or a Downpipe is rattling a bit.:rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:

Nah.... That was an easy listening jazz station on the radio. Baffles sound like heavy metal.... :rotf: Left the radio on when recording, and the auto volume level kicked in when I rev'd it up. Sounded more realistic that way ..... :whistling:
