I've found, while searching, quite a few discussions on types of cell phone mounts but few have pics included.

I'd sure like to see some clean installs different people have on their Ventures.

I'm leaning towards this mount:

Thought I could use the handle bar slot to mount it.

I've had this RAM brand one installed on my '84 for several years. An easy install. It's a ball mount type, so you can swivel to get the best position. The arms hold my iPhone very securely. I have a USB cable hooked directly to the battery for iPhone charging.

Ok folks, I settled on this mount because it is very similar to a RAM mount that I know holds the phone very securely.

This model comes with a 12V to 5V converter terminated into a USB connector good for 2 amps.

I wanted to locate the holder to meet this criteria:

I wanted it to not obstruct the mirrors or any gauges at all

I wanted to be in the center line of the bike as close as possible

I wanted it to be close as possible to my head so I would not have to reach for to manipulate it

I wanted to keep modifications of the bike to an absolute minium

Here are the results and I was even able to hide the wires under the cover on the handle bars that carry the switch wires.

The phone sits above the cruise controls and the ignition around 4.5 inches, so they can still be reached very easily.

I like it.

Opinions please....

I did a little more adjusting of this mount and the only thing you can't see is the ignition.

The USB connection port has a blue led to aid in connection in the dark which made me believe I was going to have to install a switch to avoid battery draw, but after looking closely a switch is mounted just above the USB port so that was nice.

I can see all the gauges and the cruise controls nicely.

I highly recommend this holder!!
