coolwind57 Posted August 13, 2018 Share #1 Posted August 13, 2018 I take it that this is an aftermarket rear (split) brake master cylinder put on by the previous owner? Newby here. I bought this 83 standard last Month. My brakes work, so should I assume that this is a good thing? Any comments?
coolwind57 Posted August 13, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted August 13, 2018 And this is what I just found in my goodie bag from the PO. I guess I know now why I have a nice shiny replacement.
cimmer Posted August 14, 2018 Share #3 Posted August 14, 2018 I would think it would work ok but you are going to loose the low brake fluid indicator on the CMS panel. It is nothing for them a reservoir for the rear master cylinder. If you are concerned, you most likely could get one off of ebay or ask here and another member might have an extra one they would sell you. Rick F. Any comments? https://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=114044 The pictured reservoir obviously will function as a reservoir for the rear master cylinder, but I would be concerned about the close proximity to the very hot exhaust manifold.
