I take it that this is an aftermarket rear (split) brake master cylinder put on by the previous owner? Newby here. I bought this 83 standard last Month. My brakes work, so should I assume that this is a good thing? Any comments?

I would think it would work ok but you are going to loose the low brake fluid indicator on the CMS panel. It is nothing for them a reservoir for the rear master cylinder.

If you are concerned, you most likely could get one off of ebay or ask here and another member might have an extra one they would sell you.

The pictured reservoir obviously will function as a reservoir for the rear master cylinder, but I would be concerned about the close proximity to the very hot exhaust manifold.
