Mr. van H Posted August 4, 2018 #1 Posted August 4, 2018 Hey guys, I'm working on removing my bar end weights on my '07 venture to put on kuryakyn grips and the throttle side is stuck with the wrench slot rounded out. The weight won't budge at all. Any ideas? P.S. I've never tried extracting anything with a drill before so I'm hesitant about that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Freebird Posted August 4, 2018 #2 Posted August 4, 2018 A drill may be the only way if the end is completely rounded out. You might just try a pair of Channelok type slip joint pliers and turn the entire weights and see if the screw turns with it. It very well may. That is assuming that you don't plan to use them again because it will almost certainly mar the weights.
luvmy40 Posted August 4, 2018 #4 Posted August 4, 2018 Wrap a piece of 4-6oz. leather around the weight and use a pipe wrench.
7 lakes Posted August 4, 2018 #5 Posted August 4, 2018 Left hand drill bit. Usually firm pressure and a jerky trigger on the drill, and the bit will catch and unscrew it. Works better than an easy out most of the time.
