1sttenor Posted April 29, 2008 #1 Posted April 29, 2008 Has anyone changed out or know someone who have changed their rear running/brake light bulb to the brighter so-called halogen bulb? I know they're not really halogen, but they are brighter and slightly hotter. If anyone has, have you seen a degradation of your tail lens? Thanks in advance for your responses!
KiteSquid Posted April 29, 2008 #2 Posted April 29, 2008 They actualy could be halogen!!!! I have not tried halogen auxilary lamps in a bike yet, but I had halogen backup lamps in a car once. Dont forget about 2356 bulbs....
flb_78 Posted April 30, 2008 #3 Posted April 30, 2008 I replaced mine with an amber 1157 bulb. The bulb seems to be brighter, plus the amber light through the red lens is an oddball color that grabs attention.
sarges46 Posted April 30, 2008 #4 Posted April 30, 2008 Red mounted some kind of heavy duty lights to his trunk on his RSV. Looked good and you sure could see those flashers!
pegscraper Posted April 30, 2008 #5 Posted April 30, 2008 The 2057 is quite a bit brighter, at least the brake filament is. The running light filament is the same.
1sttenor Posted April 30, 2008 Author #6 Posted April 30, 2008 Thanks Guys, I'll take before and after pics and let you see the difference!

Skip it and go straight to the LED board. It's worth the money. I even thought so when I bought my 1st one at $135 and now they're $60. Add the run/stop/turn LED signals and she's bright enough to fry the cager behind you.
