Back home after 9414 mile trip. Steering head bearing started clunking 1000 miles from home and front tire being replaced on Thurs at about 10800 total milage. Overall bike performed well and was not babied. Yamaha dealer network very disappointing except for a few bright spots. Never saw another SV or Eluder on entire trip. Indeed Mike = THANK YOU for allowing us the ride along brother,,, sounds like you and your new scoot had a BLAST out there and that is what it's all about IMHO!!! Loose neck bearings was all after an Epic Adventure like that??? Not bad,,,, not bad at all IMHO!!! :ice_congrats-vi6886:You_Rock_Emoticon:

Fabulous report; thanks so much!

Makes us sick with envy, said the 75-yr-old.

Back 'In The Day' (1984), we bought a brand new '83 naked Wing for $4,000 CAD, stuck a bug catcher on it, hung a pair of soft bags out back, plus a tank bag, and camping/cooking equipment.

Left Amherstburg, ON (near Windsor/Detroit), crossed the Ambassador Bridge, then drove s/w to Los Angeles, up the Pacific Coast Highway to Vancouver, and back home on the Trans Canada Highway. Had such a great run, we did it four more times in ensuing years. Took about two weeks.

Sounds like a warranty deal if steering bearings are loose @ 10k. But sounds like the trip went well.

Went excellent. Only 3 days of rain in 5 weeks. (Some rerouting based on forecasts) Dealer looking at steering bearing along with 12 k service and new front tire on Thurs. , we’ll see.
