85 bags compatible with 84?

Hey guys, I found a running, complete 85 for cheap money. I want to put subs in the bags but my 84 is the vertical opening kind. This 85 has horizontally opening bags, anyone know if they'll fit? I could use a parts bike but can't find an interchange guide and want to make sure everything fits.

I thought that the 85 had the exact same bags as the 84. I don't think Yamaha had horizontal opening bags till 86. Maybe someone has installed 86 and newer bags on the 85 already.

From what I've read the 86 bags won't fit mk1. It's listed as an 85 but could be an 86. Here are some pics, black bike is my 84

The red one is a MKII so has to be 86 or newer and the bags are not transferable.. The 85 had the same side bags and the larger top trunk otherwise the same as 84

Well, the bags are sort of transferrable MK2 to MK1 but you also need the MK2 rear subframe and crash bars to fit them on the MK1. With the rear subframe, it is basically plug and play...
