VentureFar Posted July 8, 2018 #1 Posted July 8, 2018 The nice folks at ultimatemotorcycling.com blessed me with a new jacket and I love it. FYI for me it is a 4 season jacket. I have ridden my version 3 at 28 degrees and I was warm and dry. Here is my ride report - I welcome your comments https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2018/06/29/joe-rocket-alter-ego-4-1-jacket-review-good-for-70000-miles-like-original/ VentureFar... videoarizona Posted July 8, 2018 #2 Posted July 8, 2018 (edited) Perfect timing. I'm in need of a new mesh jacket and was looking for all season usage. The only part I must have missed was how is the rain liner? Can it be worn over the jacket? Edited July 8, 2018 by videoarizona Spelling
VentureFar Posted July 9, 2018 Author #3 Posted July 9, 2018 Perfect timing. I'm in need of a new mesh jacket and was looking for all season usage. The only part I must have missed was how is the rain liner? Can it be worn over the jacket? The “rain liner” is rhe high viz outer jacket. That is what makes it so great. You stay dry and the outer jacket is waterproof so it stays dry too. I am 5 10” 190 and the large is perfect. Has room for warm under gear or comfortable with just a wick away t shirt under. VentureFar Posted July 9, 2018 Author #6 Posted July 9, 2018 They don't offer the same version for women. That’s true. But the women’s 3.0 is still available online. With the 3 jackets- inner fleece, mesh jacket and outer rainproof. But the airflow design is totally different than the man’ version. My wife is still wearing her original women’s alter ego that we bought in 2005. VentureFar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
VentureFar Posted August 22, 2018 Author #7 Posted August 22, 2018 I just did 3300 miles and out and back across the Mojave desert with temps over 110. In that heat when all the other riders were wearing their wife beater shirts, I put on my cycle gear rain / cold overpants and the Joe rocket outer jacket- all to keep the hot air from roasting me. I sank a 10# bag of ice inside the front of my jacket and rode had stop to gas stop is relative comfort. I was even breathing cool air as I would rest the open ‘under chin’ of my full face on the top of the front of the jacket and up would come cool air off the ice bag. When the temps are that high, covering up is way better than exposing. VentureFar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
camos Posted August 23, 2018 #8 Posted August 23, 2018 It doesn't make any sense to me but from the pix it looks like the mesh part of the jacket is all black rather than Hi-Viz. Is that true or did I miss something?

Is that true or did I miss something? Yup. The mesh is solid black. I am unhappy about that. I wanted a high viz jacket and that is only the over jacket. Bummer! VentureFar...
