ZOEYDOG Posted June 30, 2018 #1 Posted June 30, 2018 Anyone have any ideas where to instal a new louder horn almost been hit twice as horn is not heard by others
Flyinfool Posted June 30, 2018 #2 Posted June 30, 2018 I was working on a system to add a train horn to my first gen. It would mount into a 1 - 1/4 receiver hitch. I do not know if anyone makes a receiver hitch for the SVTC. This plug in also doubles as a cooler rack for day trips. Since the stinger part bolts on it would be easy to adapt the design to match any receiver hitch

snyper316 Posted June 30, 2018 #4 Posted June 30, 2018 Zoey I not awake yet but where is your horn mounted? Your probable gonna need to find a way to place two horns but I installed the snail horn by wolo on my sons bike. I think it would be fun trying to find a spot on your bike. You could "AS MUCH AS I HATE TO SAY IT" will probably need to ask over on the Yamaha facebook to see if one of them guys have done it yet. I have seen a lot of neat things over there. Most post right now are over empty usb, usb taken to long to install update. Mainly infotainment stuff. But I have seen lights, and couple mentions of the horn. videoarizona Posted June 30, 2018 #5 Posted June 30, 2018 Zoey, Kuryakin makes some nice mounts and adapters in chrome or black to mount things just about anywhere. My first guess would be to find a place near the engine guard...or on the guard and mount there. Run a relay off the battery to the horn...trigger the relay from the original horn circuit. Leave the original horn on the scoot and operational. Gives you a louder horn plus stock. Most of us have gone with the Stebel type or The Hellas. The Stebels (I have 2) have both worked great and so far for about 4 years on one and 2 years on the other. The Bolo's and others are copycats of the Stebels (or vice versa) and work just as well. Hope this helps.
ZOEYDOG Posted July 1, 2018 Author #6 Posted July 1, 2018 Bought a FIAMM horn from canadian tire also a 5 inch straight bracket took off old horn put the new one on the original mounts works great no more moped horn.
NOHAWG Posted July 1, 2018 #7 Posted July 1, 2018 Victory Vision horn in place on the '18 SVTC. I did trim the square corner of the horn, so no clearance issues at all. Before recording-20180618-110550[1].mp3 After recording-20180618-112220[1].mp3

NOHAWG Posted July 4, 2018 #9 Posted July 4, 2018 Nothing. It's accessible on the right side of the front wheel. Just need to turn the wheel a bit to get your wrench in there.
Guest NNY Posted July 6, 2018 #10 Posted July 6, 2018 A lot of folks have been installing this horn..... I’m told it’s a real easy install.... more or less plug and play. http://www.twistedthrottle.com/denali-soundbomb-mini-electromagnetic-low-tone-motorcycle-horn
NOHAWG Posted July 7, 2018 #11 Posted July 7, 2018 That looks exactly like the Vision horn only with the correct spade connectors, so it actually would be direct plug-and-play. I'm betting mechanically and sound-wise, it's the same horn. BTW, mine won't sound unless the bike is running, unlike the stock horn for some reason.
