Chaharly Posted June 24, 2018 #1 Posted June 24, 2018 Hey guys! I needed to get a new clutch cover for the 88 and i figured since I'd have it off the bike I'd hit it with a fine brass wire wheel. It turned out great, and really pops on the bike.... That being said I now have to do the rest of the motor, because it sticks out like the only non sore thumb on a totally broken hand!
Sylvester Posted June 24, 2018 #3 Posted June 24, 2018 Now that it is polished keep carnuba wax on it to keep it looking great. I did the passenger floor boards on my 02 RSMV fifteen years ago and they still look like chrome.
videoarizona Posted June 24, 2018 #4 Posted June 24, 2018 Oh boy...I think you just made more work for me too! I need to do that for my 89! Thanks! Grins!
cowpuc Posted June 24, 2018 #5 Posted June 24, 2018 A buffing wheel and some polishing compound on those aluminum covers behind the passenger pegs will really make em zingo too .... Personally though,,, I still prefer the left over salt from the Bonneville Salt Flat/Georgia Red Clay/smeared bug/sticker approach Speaking of making em pop,,, I was out diggin for parts for a buddy the other night and noticed a still in the OEM package little "1300" sticker that goes somewhere on one of the MK2's.. Thinkin it was like 1/4" wide by 1" long,,,,,, maybe sets into a recess on a side cover somewhere??? Anyway,,, if any of you lop eared varmints are looking for such a thing for a restore,,, let me know and I will dig it out and mail it to ya! I would use it but I still ride the 1200cc's cause they are faster

The only 1300 stickers I saw were on the plate that Charharly polished and the one on the other side of the engine. but they are a little bigger than you described.

You wanna Hot Apple Pie with that .... Never mind,, want it or not I am gonna go dig it out and check it,,,, lop eared curiousity seed plantin varmint...... Be right back....
cowpuc Posted June 25, 2018 #8 Posted June 25, 2018 Sorry it took so long,,, just like little Joey in The Family Circle going to get the mail and coming back 3 hours later, only in my case it involved a Poppa Johns Pizza Anyway,,,,, YEP,,, YOU got a good eye Sky!! I wayyy under estimated what I thought I saw size wise:
BlueSky Posted June 25, 2018 #9 Posted June 25, 2018 Mine are in good shape but someone else will probably want that sticker!
