Hey guys! I needed to get a new clutch cover for the 88 and i figured since I'd have it off the bike I'd hit it with a fine brass wire wheel. It turned out great, and really pops on the bike.... That being said I now have to do the rest of the motor, because it sticks out like the only non sore thumb on a totally broken hand! :Avatars_Gee_George:

Now that it is polished keep carnuba wax on it to keep it looking great. I did the passenger floor boards on my 02 RSMV fifteen years ago and they still look like chrome.

A buffing wheel and some polishing compound on those aluminum covers behind the passenger pegs will really make em zingo too  .... Personally though,,, I still prefer the left over salt from the Bonneville Salt Flat/Georgia Red Clay/smeared bug/sticker approach :missingtooth:

Speaking of making em pop,,, I was out diggin for parts for a buddy the other night and noticed a still in the OEM package little "1300" sticker that goes somewhere on one of the MK2's.. Thinkin it was like 1/4" wide by 1" long,,,,,, maybe sets into a recess on a side cover somewhere??? Anyway,,, if any of you lop eared varmints are looking for such a thing for a restore,,, let me know and I will dig it out and mail it to ya! I would use it but I still ride the 1200cc's cause they are faster :big-grin-emoticon:

You got my curiosity up so I went to the garage and looked at my 89. The only 1300 stickers I saw were on the plate that Charharly polished and the one on the other side of the engine. but they are a little bigger than you described.

Yep agreed, and then when they are all polished, finish them with some Classic Cloth to keep them that way.
