I gave $4000 last year for same bike. Needed tires and battery with 31,000 miles and thought I got a good deal. Mostly stock, had a few extra lights and K&N filters.

Personally, we'd want to know how/when those 7,000 miles were acquired?

 

If the owner was a casual Rider who only ran the Bike a few dozen times yearly, no problem.

 

HOWEVER... IF the Bike sat for the recent years, with little riding, and/or servicing; watch out.

 

You may be looking at a LOT of work, and possibly major expense returning that Bike to decent condition.

the license plate is 2015 the tires look to be original Bridgestone the Battery is new

Was the bike kept inside or left outside? Does it start and run with out any problem? Ask if he ever had the tires changed. I would offer 5,000.00 you know you will have to change all fluids and tires.

It's a reasonable price, offer him $4500 citing the fact you have to replace tires and do a lot of Preventative Maintenance as well. Settle for $5000...

Provided the bike was actually in good shape, I'd buy that... it would probably have an asking price of about $10K up here in Canada.

People will tell you what ever you want to hear.

 

"It was driven by grandma only on Sundays just to church service." "Highway miles." "Never dropped." "Always garaged." "Runs great." "Well maintained"

 

None of that is a substitute for a mechanical inspection and review of the service records! If the dealer/private seller lacks a complete set of service records, negotiate a price below the blue book value.

 

You'll know how much to offer after your mechanic inspects the bike.
