cowpuc Posted June 16, 2018 #1 Posted June 16, 2018 pretty cool ol shooter .. Says its been sitting in his closet for years, it doesnt work and tells me it's mine if I want it.. Yep,,,, she'd still pump but she definitely would hold no air... Checked out Ebay,,, found a guy selling (2) sets of seals for 5 bucks,,, figured he must know me and that it would probably take me 2 sets of seals to get the thing back together once I tore it apart so I ordered em.. The seals were in the mail when we got home from touring our west coast last night so I ripped er apart and at 1:16 A.M. today,,, my new little .22 caliber air shooter went "POOF" for the first time in many years!!! Left it over night with 2 pumps in her and NICE = held air all night!! Pumped her up to 10 pumps and WOWZY,, not bad for a freebie!!! Of course,, nutting ever goes exactly as planned (Murph even LOVES playin with BB guns and he and I managed to break the top off the screw that holds the rear site because I didnt know the screw actually threaded into the screw that held the reciever on (drilled and tapped right into the end of that screw).. Wonder if Ace will have something so tiny (pic of screw shank between my fingers) or if the local gun smith will or if I will have to spend hours and hours and hours online trying to find a Crosman dealer who has been in the business since the mid 50's when they started making these little shooters,,,,, could get even more interesting!! My neighbor said he also has a couple old bb revolver shooters he is gonna give me when he finds em.... Think I will go set up my tent at the end of his driveway
Freebird Posted June 16, 2018 #2 Posted June 16, 2018 Pretty cool old gun. Sort of reminds me of the Benjamins.
Sylvester Posted June 16, 2018 #3 Posted June 16, 2018 I've got one just/almost like it. My uncle gave it to me in 1960. Don't know if goes poof anymore. You may have awakened the inner hunter in me. I have a a slide action bb gun also.

Yes I do Mr. Puc but My son (gun thief that he is) has it and the BB gun at his house. He also has my S&W two pin 19-2 6" shooter. Can't remember what else, oh yeah my father's Colt Police Positive (nickel plated) 4" 38, and my PPK .380. What can I say...he will get it all anyway. Next time I get to Asheville I will get pix. But he doesn't have my matched set of Colt Government Enhanced .45s. Of course with double shoulder holster.

cowpuc Posted June 16, 2018 Author #8 Posted June 16, 2018 Okay so I know nothing about air guns but you said it's a .22? Must be pellets? My bad Cha,, I should have been more specific,, yep,, .22 caliber pellets - if you look at the pics I posted you can see a tin of them laying on the lazy susan on the table.. Funny thing,,, that little chewin tobacco size tin has 500 rounds in it - figure all the pumping a guys gotta do to go thru that many shooters and WOWZY - thats a fair amount of fun LOL
7 lakes Posted June 17, 2018 #9 Posted June 17, 2018 (edited) Wow Puc, that brings back memories. My Dad had one of those, after one of my stinkin older brothers blew up my newly finished lunar lander model with firecrackers, I snuck the pistol out of my Dads office and put a pellet in his left buttockular region from about 12 inches. Ya know, it's true what they, memories are precious. Edited June 17, 2018 by 7 lakes More words came out of my head

Funny thing,,, that little chewin tobacco size tin has 500 rounds in it - figure all the pumping a guys gotta do to go thru that many shooters and WOWZY - thats a fair amount of fun LOL I guess if I would've looked a little closer at the pictures I would have seen the pellets! When I was I high school we drove around one day and took the pellet gun to the local varmints (rabbits, sick feral cats, and the like) I thought we were doing the city a favor, but the little old ladies who kept calling my dad (the town cop) didn't think so. I got that pellet gun taken away from me for that one!
Condor Posted June 17, 2018 #11 Posted June 17, 2018 Apparently there is a McGuiver screw that'll work, and apparently it's happened before... :-) Thought it look familiar and I found this one buried in one of the roll-away drawers. Hadn't seen it in years. Tried a couple of pumps and nada... So figured it was another non-op like yours. Played with it a bit more and the thing went poof!! Pumped it some more and it started working, but still only goes poof... Anyway back to the drawer. It looks like the original rear sight adjustment screw was a round head??
NOHAWG Posted June 17, 2018 #12 Posted June 17, 2018 I have this nifty little conversion that replaces the slide and magazine on an actual 1911. Converts it to a .177 caliber single-shot pellet pistol. I believe they stopped making this back in the late 1960's. Air cylinder goes in the barrel bushing area. Pretty fun and still fully functional.
