cowpuc Posted May 28, 2018 #1 Posted May 28, 2018 Price and availability of fuel at the U.S./Canadian Border in Port Huron, Michigan..
cowpuc Posted May 28, 2018 Author #2 Posted May 28, 2018 [h=1]Pt 2, 2018 MarCarl's VentureIn, VentureRider.org MC Canadian Motorcycle Rally[/h] Price and availability of fuel in Canada near Grimsby Ontario,, I think,,,,, actually I cant remember the name of the town I am in here,, I know it's where the Red Valley Parkway connects on to the QEW (what does QEW stand for? - my guess is Queen Elizabeth Way - lets see if one of my Canadian friends can solve this one!!).
cowpuc Posted May 28, 2018 Author #3 Posted May 28, 2018 [h=1]Pt 3, 2018 MarCarl's VentureIn, VentureRider.org MC Canadian Motorcycle Rally[/h] Due to some unforeseen problems, the usual person(s) (our club members and dear friends of mine, "MarCarl" and his wife) who normally host this awesome event were unable to do so this year. Another dear friend and brother of mine, Dogman and his precious wife Bernie decided to pick up the slack and host the event!!! After arriving at the Dogman family residence, it took some pretty deep discussion and a lot of time (didnt hit the sack until after 2 a.m. - it was SOOOO wonderful seeing my friend again and meeting his precious Wife - THANK YOU again Mr. and Mrs. Dogman for such great hospitality and for EVERYTHING!!) but I finally got an answer to the timeless question of whether or not Dogmans Dogs will tinkle on a tent wall!!! YES,,,,, but ONLY if Dogman tells em too!! In the course of finding this out, I did uncover something else though that is even more puzzling,, I found out out that Dogman actually talks to his dogs and they speak back to him.. Sort of Dr. Doolittle thing going on there!!!!! Club secret!!
cowpuc Posted May 28, 2018 Author #4 Posted May 28, 2018 [h=1]Pt 4, 2018 MarCarls VentureIn, VentureRider.org MC Canadian Motorcycle Rally[/h] The morning of May 26th 2018,,, about 11 a.m. Canuckian time!!! The REAL fun begins!!!!
cowpuc Posted May 28, 2018 Author #5 Posted May 28, 2018 [h=1]Pt 5, 2018 MarCarls VentureIn, VentureRider.org MC Canadian Motorcycle Rally[/h] This is a short video example of a Canuckian after lunch ride thru their homelands gorgeous country side. We rode on top of the "escarpment" that this area is known for. During this ride some slippery stuff that looked a little like Spider Manure to me appeared on the roadway and, after we stopped at the end of the ride I found out that my thoughts on what the substance may have been were not that far off. More about this in Part 6 of this series. GREAT TIMES WITH GREAT FRIENDS SEEING THE GREAT COUNTRY OF CANADA FROM THE SEAT OF A GREAT MOTORCYCLE, it dont get no better than this = GET OUT AND RIDE!!!
cowpuc Posted May 28, 2018 Author #6 Posted May 28, 2018 [h=1]Pt 6, 2018 MarCarls VentureIn, VentureRider.org MC Canadian Motorcycle Rally[/h] It is said that all good things have to come to an end and my time of seeing friends of old, making new ones and exploring the beautiful country of Canada became no exception to the rule. Saying goodbye is always hard for me and the closeness one develops thru sharing times like these with people of this caliber makes doing so even harder. People like Dogman and his wife Bernie who will open their homes and hearts to a drifter from Michigan contribute greatly to this difficulty but so do the many many brothers/sisters/friends who also shared in making this such a special time of life. My hat goes off to each of you for making this, my very first Marcarls VentureIn an unforgettably special time!! THANK YOU, you bunch of lop eared Canuckian varmints!!
cowpuc Posted May 28, 2018 Author #7 Posted May 28, 2018 [h=1]Pt 7, 2018 MarCarls VentureIn, VentureRider.org MC Canadian Motorcycle Rally[/h] People often ask me why I carry No compass, No GPS, No Maps and, many times my reply will be that I have found that having to stop and talk to the local citizens for directions often pays big dividends. Here is perfect example of what I am referring to in action!!!I had my own private escort once I left the group back in Pellham (think this was the name of the town). Sticky and his side kick in the side hack offered to show me the way to go home and their directions were spot on!!THANK YOU STICKY!!
cowpuc Posted May 28, 2018 Author #8 Posted May 28, 2018 I rode hard and made it back to Michigan from Canada just in time to make our 7th annual Glenn Rocky Memorial ride!! Glenny was a friend of mine of which he had MANY!!! GREAT TURN OUT!!!!
cowpuc Posted May 28, 2018 Author #9 Posted May 28, 2018 In this video, we head out for the actual Glen Rocky ride.. Glen would be so proud to know how much he was loved and missed!!
cowpuc Posted May 28, 2018 Author #10 Posted May 28, 2018 Riding next to another one of Glennies friends in during the ride!! Not all of Glens buddies were youngens,, some of us biker geezers also loved hanging out with Glenny!!!
cowpuc Posted May 28, 2018 Author #11 Posted May 28, 2018 After pulling into Hesperia Michigan on the ride, I decided to take a rip on another path to get in front of the group to see if I could get a full video of everyone who attended on their bikes = IT WORKED!!!!
saddlebum Posted May 28, 2018 #12 Posted May 28, 2018 (edited) Great video log Puc i really enjoyed watching them. And it was great to see you make it to our humble country. Now everybody in Mich will be wondering were you developed that new great accent. Edited May 28, 2018 by saddlebum
Evan Posted May 28, 2018 #14 Posted May 28, 2018 After pulling into Hesperia Michigan on the ride, I decided to take a rip on another path to get in front of the group to see if I could get a full video of everyone who attended on their bikes = IT WORKED!!!! Enjoying your videos PUC. Just watched video # 4. Yes, it is the Queen Elizabeth Way, built around 1950. We had mostly cow paths before that. About the fuel, the issue is ethanol content which can be up to 10% here in Ontario. It's made from corn, burns like **** and damages seals etc. so some gas stations guarantee a lower or zero ethanol content in their higher octane (and higher priced) grades of gas.
Sylvester Posted May 28, 2018 #15 Posted May 28, 2018 LOVE viewing your travels, Pu Wish I had the versatility to have video'd my Western Canadian run or my Baja Mexico or my Four Corners.
stickhandle2 Posted May 28, 2018 #16 Posted May 28, 2018 Hi Scott On the video where you were pumping the gas you were more then likely in Stoney Creek, that would be my old stomping grounds. Mike
dogman Posted May 28, 2018 #17 Posted May 28, 2018 Puc, some great videos. Thanks for sharing and again Bernie and I where happy to host you. Too bad you couldn't stay Saturday night as well, but riding is important and that Glen ride is very important for you to be there, so glad you made it.
The Tooch Posted May 29, 2018 #18 Posted May 29, 2018 I was most happy to see you again Puc and was sad that you had to leave early but understand the importance of getting to that ride. I was able to grab a picture of you as you left us and rode away......at least I think it was you?! Had to be......?!
Gary N. Posted May 29, 2018 #19 Posted May 29, 2018 It was great to see you again Scott. Glad you were able to make it.
Venture n Dixie Posted May 29, 2018 #20 Posted May 29, 2018 I count 111 but I'm not going to double check. That was better than counting railroad cars! (Something I haven't done since I was a kid) Thanks Puc
stickhandle2 Posted May 30, 2018 #21 Posted May 30, 2018 Great videos Scott, Thanks for putting them up. it was my pleasure to finally get to meet you. Mike
