original yamaha key

anyone know where i can get original factory keys or key blanks with the yamaha plastic heads for a 2011 rsv? i have one original but locksmiths around me only have regular plain blanks

Check our classifieds. They don't say Yamaha but do have the plastic heads.

When I bought my RSV in 2010 it came with this style key. I really liked the look of it so I ordered these blanks and had the local lock shop cut the key for me.

A good locksmith can make the key for you from the keycode. In fact, keys made that way are better than ones made using the common key copy machine found in most hardware stores.

 

And, despite what the ebay ad says, there is an all metal blank available, albeit, without the yamaha logo or black plastic head. There's a thread here somewhere that has the correct blank (non-Yamaha) part number.
