Pretty cool IMHO:

Ouch on the Yamaha.

"The Engine" :big-grin-emoticon::hihi: he says "The Engine" with a funny look on his face :8::hihi:

76 horse:fiddle:

I said it when I rode it out at Sturgis,,, felt like I was back on an Evo,,, maybe an 88 inch twin cam... Definitely rear view mirror of the dinky little 1200cc V-4 1st Gen material :hihi:

Now the Honda,,, I still think if anyone deserves to be paid in cold hard cash for RnDing the new machines,,, it's Honda,, they actually have earned the price hikes if anyone has IMHO...

Mom Yam should have sought design advice on Venturerider instead of Star Touring :happy34:

AND just like you, they’re an “opinion”. It would be just as easy to find Rider reviews of the Venture that are positive because there are many out there. Just because you’re stuck in a “bygone era” riding something that looks like it’s being held together by “stickers” unable to either afford or embrace new technology doesn’t mean those who do so are in any way riding an “inferior” machine. It’s funny as I watch you smile and be complimentary to the face of SVTC owners while in other conversations you deride and mock it. Many would consider that “two-faced” IMHO.

Since your “salutation” includes a scripture, maybe you should work on consistency and consider “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways” - Proverbs.

Just an observation.

What you may be reading/seeing and interpreting as two facedness could be a bold attempt at me keeping my disenchantment with what Mom Yam came out with as the New Venture separate from my respect/love for my fellow bikers being they Christian brothers or not (toss that in cause you played the religion card in your comment) . I dont recall ever taking the debate to a personal level aimed personally at the riders/owners of the new scoots as you seem to be doing here and have attempted to make sure that doesnt happen - hence, the pat on the back and congrats to those who have sought and bought..

That's about as far down the lane of defending myself to your accusations that I am willing to go Chief as I really really really do not want to get into an angered, personal assault thread - understand though,, if I felt you were playing/joking here in your personal attack I would GLADLY participate (so you know,, its not that I cant take a joke).. I just have never seen personal attacks on forums end positively for anyone - more of a lose/lose situation than anything else..

I do want to apologize to you though if I did come across in my posts concerning my opinions of the new Venture as aiming at any human beings, I never intended for that to happen Chief.. Just a thought here, iIf you went back and read the thread that Yamster just brought to the forefront where many of us VR club members took the time and gave our thoughts about what we were hoping for in the new Venture you will find a post by myself where I gave a detailed "wish list" concerning the new bike.. If I recall,, I also openly BEGGED Mom Yam to PLEASE not come out with another HD V-Twin clone and NOT because I have anything against air cooled, push rod V-Twins - I think I mentioned something there about there already being to many of them IMHO.. Also,, if I recall correctly,, take a peek at the date on those posts.. You might notice that that thread began way back in '15,,, long before I had the honor of even making your aquaintence - I leave this rebuttal to your attack here with this thought,, that was longgggg before you and I had ever met and actually,,, long before Mom Yam even came out with the new Machine... NOTHING between you and I brother..

IMHO,, that should reveal a steadfastness in my part concerning being double minded,,, I was then as I am now...

By the way brother,,, not to cause you more grief but I been diggin and diggin here and for the life of me I cannot find the Proverbs reference to the unstable man in my Bible... I remembered it being in the 1st Chapter of James and found it there in verse 8 but nothing is coming up in Proverbs for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated and THANKS for the inspiration to do some diggin Chief = I NEEDED THAT!!

Im sorry for being so harsh & lashing out Puc. I get it, it’s not YOUR dream bike, but it IS for many of us here. It’s also quite a significant investment for most of us as well. I should have just ignored it and let you rant on. It is YOUR “opinion” and you’re entitled to it.

Im also sorry Yamaha didn’t produce YOUR dream bike and hope that one day you get it.

Again, my humble apologies.

I do love the short clips, gathering info is always good and we all have our like and not likes.

My biggest is the cost of the new touring bikes. I have worked hard all my life and riding is a joy.

LOve what you love and never put another down for their love

Pretty cool IMHO:

He is wrong on the weight issue as the Venture is easy to handle in parking lots and slow speed handling. Rattles? Don't know what he is talking about because mine has no rattles.

As for Big V-Twin I have owned a Victory 106 ci V-Twin and a Harley Rushmore 103 ci twin cooled V-Twin and this Yamaha 113 ci is better than both of those V-Twins.

Power delivery is better on the Yamaha then both the Victory and Harley V-Twins as well.

As for the GoldWing he praises the suspension system yet we are now finding out there are problems with the GoldWing suspension right off the showroom floor.

Further I posted a short Video from the internet that shows the front of both the 2018 GoldWing Tour and 2018 Star Venture sitting side by side and the Gold wing was down sized everywhere not just the storage, the GoldWing is going after the sport touring market not the long distance touring market with the 2018 GoldWing.

Having owned a 1989 Honda GoldWing GL1500, 2013 Victory Cross Country Tour, 2016 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited Low and now this 2018 Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental the Yamaha is hands down the best touring bike I have ever owned.

Another thing not even a mention that the passenger and rider back rests are heated as well as the seats. He did not even say anything about the passenger being able to listen to their own music and make their own phone calls separate from the rider.

Yet in the video you keep posting you are clearly heard saying at the 13 to 14 second mark "She seems pretty sporty man" as you are outside the power band accelerating up the on ramp. Imagine if you had ridden the bike and knew the proper power band what you would have said.

Cowpuc, you keep saying Yamaha should have listened to you and put in a V-4, well Yamaha did that in every Venture they built up until this new one, I have to point out that those older V-4 equipped bikes just never did catch the world on fire, Yamaha did clinics to find out what the riding public really wanted and it was hands down an air cooled V-Twin.

Some have been making unfounded comments about the longevity of this new V-Twin but there are documented cases of Yamaha's 113 cubic inch V-Twin in other bikes going well over 100,000 miles so longevity will likely not be a problem.

I get it you are upset that Yamaha did not build another touring bike with a V-4 engine, the surveys did not support using the V-4 engine again so you were/are in the minority on that one, I am tickled pink with the power of this Yamaha 113 cubic inch V-Twin. I have yet to find myself wanting for power on this bike.

Both my 2013 Victory Cross Country Tour and my 2016 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited Low had complete stage one set ups on them with turners and both of those bikes while they ran good have nothing on the stock off the show room floor Yamaha Star Venture. The 2018 Star Venture out preforms both of those bikes performance wise.

Heck in my opinion this 2018 Star Venture out performs my old 1989 Honda GoldWing GL1500 as well.

One more thing I have to take issue with the mini review of the Venture in that video as he complains about the price of the Venture, what other bike includes Sirius XM? You normally have to pay extra for that option, fog lights I think that is another option you have to pay for on the Honda GoldWing, once you finish paying for all the options on the GoldWing that come standard on the Venture Transcontinental the GoldWing Tour ends up costing more than the Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental.

No matter, I'd still love to collect one of each generation venture including the 3rd gen.

Scary Honda 2018 GoldWing has lots of problems. Glad the Honda dealers would not work with me and I bought the Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental instead.

IMO the 3rd Gen Venture is way over-priced.

Great... they shoulda called it a Raiderliner.

We are glad Yamaha made a new tour bike and wish them the best. They did not have to crap all over the Venture name and the V-4 engine configuration to do so. That's just lazy. And to us 1st and 2nd Gens, the 3rd Gen just seems to be an oh so lazy exercise by Yamaha to get a tour bike out, when it could have been so much more.

Yamaha is only looking to sell about 2500 of them a year. Hell... that is what Harley makes during a lunch run.

At some point you guys are just going to have to get over it, Yamaha is the one who did the studies, they are the ones who put up the millions of dollars to design and build the new Star Venture, they are the ones taking all the risk.

Clearly the focus groups did not want another V-4 Venture, they clearly said they wanted an air cooled V-Twin, so that is what Yamaha did they built the bike the focus groups said they wanted and so far this new Yamaha Star Venture is the best touring bike out there bar none.

When you become majority owner of Yamaha or the CEO you can name it whatever you like, I wonder if the owners of the true first generation Venture carried on like you guys are considering the first Venture's had an inline air cooled 4 cylinder engine.

You see the V-4 was not the first use of the name Venture for Yamaha.
