Thank's Doug...will do! Certainly will!

I forgot to mention another thing. After you wash down the bike but before you put the sealant on I always like to do what's called an IPA Wipedown (though it's certainly not required.) IPA is Isopropyl Alcohol and you can get it in different strengths from your grocery or drug store. The strength really doesn't matter so much but you want to dilute it 50/50 with water (distilled if you got it.) Put the mixture in a spray bottle then mist down a small section on the bike and wipe it off with a soft microfiber cloth (you can always spray the cloth and then wipe the panel also.) Repeat until you've done all of the painted surfaces. This removes any oils, residue, and previous waxes and sealants so your new sealant has a super clean surface to bond to and it will last longer.

My paint is beautiful. I have asked many other owners of our bike if they had issues with their paint.. Not one other person had any negative response. I believe that this might be a small number that if in fact is a plant issue will get fixed....

Not so much defective paint as it is cheap quality paint.

I say that I'd agree with that comment. I also wonder how many coats were applied before the Clear Coat. One? It looks that way to me, at least on the Tupperware.

I'm a glass half full guy...and having said my piece about the paint job on my 042 serial number bike, I'll just do my best with scratch out rubs, sealant and regular washing waxing and move on. I don't want this to 'glass half empty' my entire usage and enjoyment.

As for the 'enjoyment' quotient...WOW...WOW....WOW...and WOW! One ***H*LL*** of a bike...features, rides like a magic carpet (the ride, blows my stock 2008 Goldwing ride out of the fight ring,...even when new at the same mileage I have on Charlotte 3), and the ***SOUND*** from those hot looking pipes (great chrome job on metal, and great paint job on metal tank...only the plastic is less than owner satisfactory)...the sound is the best thing I have ever heard. It has authority...sitting at a light, while leaving that light...while cruising, and man oh man...they light up, in Sport Mode at full throttle..>BUT....BUT...they are not obnoxiously loud. They don't hurt the ears of fellow motorists, or make them angry that you are near them, or in front of them. No sir...and the complements I have received while at rest, or while waiting at a light...the fellow or gal to my right...commenting on my "really great looking bike there...", tells me that Yamaha...as the Knight says..."they...chose well." :)

I am very happy to date with the bike...and will just accept what I feel could have been a better paint application on the plastic metrics. The paint on the gas tank is first rate. Other than that...NO COMPLAINTS OF ANY KIND! Over 'n out!

"Charlotte is humming...I got the wondering lust, blues...and will take to the highway, my way". You sing it, Baby...you sing it for Papa!"

Cheers, all!

Happy Camper.

The paint on mine is so far so good .Was wondering if any one had sunscreen on their hands then touched the paint I know sunscreen has left finger print marks on our air conditioning unit. Also it will stain your leathers.Just my 2 cents I know I will not touch paint on bike with it on my hands.

Ceramic coating is becoming more and more popular. Local shop has been ceramic coating bikes for a couple years now....many HD's. If I ever custom paint, I will ceramic coat also!
