I’m liking this new bike a lot. Gotta get the backup camera working though.http://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=112424http://www.venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=112425

Wow...what a set up...you have it all! Enjoy!

A question...you have no fear that pulling the extra weight of the trailer and cargo, will not threaten the drive belt, stretching, or out right snapping? How strong actually are these belts? Same as a chain? First experience with it shortly, so don't have a clue.

Never had a driveline issue with the Harley driveline so I’m thinking the Yamaha has to be at least as well over engineered.

I put 11k miles on my VStar with belt drive. Much of it through mountains and two up. When I sold it, belt showed no wear..

Those belts are tough....I would expect 100k out of them before replacement. Like the serpentine drive belt in your car....

Which one, the SVTC?, the Kayak?, the trailer?

OR all three? Make him an offer, 'he can't refuse'....lol.

Thanks but huge smiles are NOT for sale. Good luck Joe keeping your bike under 2400 rpm next week. The hardest thing that I’ve had to do recently. 600 mile service next Thurs then woo hoo 2900 for the next 400 miles. Seems like a long break in period....

It WAS tough for me. That ol girl just wanted to GIDDYAP & GO! It’s surprisingly difficult to keep the RPM’s down because most of us are used to a higher revving engine. REMEMBER this little lady’s torque is all down low. Takes some getting use to to “short shift”, but that will also give you better gas mileage as well. ENJOY!

I was thinking those very thoughts...you just let off the clutch...and oh jeez....I have to upshift! LOL

After those thousand miles...LOOK OUT, don't step out in front of me.......you might just get run over! LOLOL--------------[113 cubic inches of fun lovin', TORQUE]--------------------------------------->headin' for them, thar hills!

I've got an idea...we need to be like Hog Farmers...I need to bring Charlotte over to meet your Stud. We put them side by side in a garage, lock the door, turn out the lights...and go for a couple of beers.

In a few months, when Charlotte drops a litter of SVTC's, wait for 3 months, after weening, and I put them out on Craig's List at around $23,000.00, per 'Little Red'?

As always, as the stud owner of 'Huge Smiles', Yooper, --->you'll get your choice of the SVTC litter first, and gender. The rest, I'll move...lol

I'm going to have to create a website, for the new breed...

'Joe's Pureblood SVTC's' --->each, 100 percent certified healthy, and road worthy, comes with 2 dealer Pedigree Papers. Comes with all shots, and all sales final.

Taking orders, with a $500.00 deposit. "We'll call you when it's time to take YOUR cutie home,...to meet the family!"

And we’ll make them wait 6 months like we had to. BTW did Mother Yamaha sweeten the deal for you as promised? I had put my deposit down in July sold the Ultra in August and was really PO’d when the delay was announced. I was really close to going a different route and buying a Green/Black Indian Springfield. The $1K bling money was incentive but the real incentive was that I knew the SVTC was a much better bike even though I was losing half my riding season. Man I’m glad I waited, I really hope you get the same consideration. Yamaha did blow this roll out.

On a serious note, I TOTALLY agree with you. We had similar experiences. I could have enjoyed another month or two aboard my GL1800, but got a good deal from the dealer (what he could offer me) and played ball with him, when he asked if he could move it to a couple that was already lined up to view and possibly buy it. We did that...met the couple...nice folks...and they didn't waste one minute humming or hawing. They cut the dealer a hold cheque that very afternoon. So..we had no 'couple' bike (my wife will NOT even get on the Sport Tour) since October. I thought that I would see Charlotte 3 near about the end of February, knowing there would be days here and there, without salt, etc...that I could sneak a ride..and break in the bike under ideal outside temperatures. That was the plan, in my head, anyways. It didn't happen.

So...for all the B.S. that I went through with Yamaha Canada, and I thought also my dealer..(turns out, all the delays, were not his doing...he was waiting on it as much as I was. Another dealer tried to take a shot, by supplying me with incorrect 'intel'.) Plain and simple, was this...they had a way better realization in the PreOrder thingy....and frankly, were using anybody's else confirmed orders...that is, you ordered through your dealer past the PreOrder Program...and gave your dealership a $500.00 purchase deposit. So...they used my delivery date unit, to pass onto another PreOrder customer. They simply didn't make enough 2018 Red SVTC Canadian Models. THAT was the thick of it. So, as you read, I finally am getting it, in the first week of May...ordered in October. Never seen this before!

For them shimming me, on getting the bike around February as my dealer said, it would most likely come...my Yamaha Canada-We're Very Sorry-Mia Culpa 'surprise' was/is, that I am getting a second Proximity Key Fob as is the three others who all of us, came off the Assembly Line, last of all. We didn't ORDER last! For my dealer's part, and they thought it sucked as well...where in my deal I had a 10 % off all and any accessories ordered, he is 'working it out' in house, that I can get at least a 25 %, to as high as a 50 % off on my acc's. I spent:

Accessories---> Canadian Yamaha Canada Prices;

1

LOWER FAIRING WIND DEFLECTORS (2DF-F83M0-V0-00)$380.95

1

CARRY-AWAY SADDLEBAG LINERS (2DF-F847U-V0-00)$132.95

1

MINI DAY COVER (2DF-F81A0-T0-00)$148.95

1

BILLET BRAKE PEDAL COVER (2DF-F720A-V0-00)$207.95

1

BILLET TOE SHIFT LEVER (2DF-E81A0-V0-00)$291.95

1

BILLET HEEL SHIFT LEVER (2DF-E81A0-T0-00)$177.95

1

HEATED RIDER BACKREST (2DF-F84B0-S0-00)$367.95

1

J&M HELMET HEADSET PASSENGER LOWER EXTENSION CORD (DBY-ACC56-13-22)$112.95

2

J&M HELMET HEADSET CONNECTION CORD (DBY-ACC56-13-20)$297.90

Total: $2,119.54

minus 10%= $1,907.58

plus 13% sales tax:$247.98

Total: 2,155.57 CDN

...so, it might end up being better than the above Total amount I show. So, that's about it. If I get the second Key Fob...I'll call it even. Yooper...the bottom line, as you say...is that we both have our bikes...not vapor-ride, and both will have many great adventures before we put in the Sta-Bil, plug in the Battery Tender, and wish them happy dreams until next Spring. I was spec'ing out a 2018 HD Road Glide Ultra, when at about the end of my patience rope...but left the Harley Dealership, KNOWING that I was never going to play the HD bait' n' add-on game. Wasn't going to stack on another $10,000.00 to approximate 80 percent of what comes standard with our beauties. Nope, would have kept riding my Kawa...and looked for a used two or three year old 'something else'.

Sorry, been gone. Just the bike...we once had a family kayak day on a vacation several years ago...did not go well, LOL...Went to Mammoth Caves and had a great time and then kayaked the Green River...no current to help propel us down the river...it was a lot of work that day...

Bring her down this way, we'll shack her up with a 1st gen. Might get some offspring with current technology AND a V4 water cooled power plant that'll knock yer socks off. Might turn the touring world upside down. Cassette player optional of course. :witch_brew::witch_brew::rotf::banana:

"That pairing might not work...for you know..there could be recessive genes, and gawd forbid, some retardation! LOLOLOL!" :Avatars_Gee_George:

Cheers!

Joe's purebred SVTC pups....litters expected twice a year...."we encourage you to book early!"
