camos Posted February 23, 2018 #1 Posted February 23, 2018 There is something inherently wrong with this pic taken last Wednesday. Went in to Victoria to visit a friend. Snow flurries were predicted but this is Lotus Land so they can normally be disregarded. Seems the weather fairies got their coasts mixed up and sent East Coast weather deep into the West. While they are sweating in 80 F heat we are digging out. It's just wrong. :snow2: Oh well, enjoy the while you have it. We got a little more this morning but I will hopefully be able to rescue my bike tomorrow.
Kretz Posted February 23, 2018 #2 Posted February 23, 2018 I feel for you! It was forecast to start here around noon, instead it started around 8am & has been coming down like crazy ever since. we are at a higher elevation too, so we tend to get a lot more than you guys lower down. 2pm & Currently around it's around 3" when I went out earlier it was -4C (25F) so it's going to stick around too.
Sylvester Posted February 23, 2018 #3 Posted February 23, 2018 That is just a skiff. I would ride in that and have in much worse.
cowpuc Posted February 23, 2018 #4 Posted February 23, 2018 @Flyinfool was :smash2: on the end of the work bench in the shed where the White Washer is kept... A piece of wood came loose from his work bench,, did a double endo in the air and landed horizonally across one of the nozzles that happen to be on the North end of the nozzle manifold.. The Wisconsin White Washer is a fairly delicate machine and that little splinter of wood forced the over spray from the infamous machine to cast out North by Northwest instead of directly East like it normally does... Bottom line Cammy,,, you ended up with what would normally have landed in my front yard:guitarist 2:
Marcarl Posted February 23, 2018 #5 Posted February 23, 2018 I say: It sure do look purdy, not too often one can see a Venture with a wedding dress on.

camos Posted February 24, 2018 Author #9 Posted February 24, 2018 Supposed to be nice tomorrow so I get to take the bus in to the big smoke and will hopefully be independently mobile by noon. Fingers crossed, that will be the last kick at the can from Old Man Winter.

djh3 Posted February 25, 2018 #12 Posted February 25, 2018 When I was in the USAF I was stationed in Southwest Oklahoma. I rode just about year round as we only had 1 car and the bike. Quite a few times I got off work at 7am and my bike looked like that. More than a few times it was covered in a sheet of ice. But it dont make it any nicer for you. I bet it was kind of a shock to come out and see that.
camos Posted February 25, 2018 Author #13 Posted February 25, 2018 I bet it was kind of a shock to come out and see that. The shock was the forecasted flurries going directly to 2 inches. The pic was taken about halfway through. Decided to stay overnight at my friend's in Victoria. In the morning the main roads were cleared but the side roads were solid ice and my bike was on a side road. A little snow in the winter is not entirely unexpected in this area but it is always a shock when it happens. Drivers around here don't have a clue how to manage snow so it's better to stay off the roads completely never mind staying off the bike. Picked it up today. All the snow is gone except in my back yard. That's the good thing, we are now back to the normal drizzles and low 40's. Kinda dreary but I'll take it over days or weeks of snow.
