Zzyzx Posted February 22, 2018 #1 Posted February 22, 2018 Took the 83 out late yesterday for a short 3 mile shakedown ride. Carbs need adjusting but have to get me another manometer before in can do that. She’s all together again (tour pack was lost in fire) and she has a few scars but I’m pleased with how good she turned out. Had to put the 84 Corbin seat on until I get the other one recovered but it doesn’t look bad. Hoping to do a real good shakedown ride on Saturday if weather permits. 5 days after the fire. Today
krispy Posted February 22, 2018 #2 Posted February 22, 2018 Wow!! What a recovery!! That's the same bike? Well done.
mraf Posted February 22, 2018 #4 Posted February 22, 2018 Out of the ashes rises a Venture {with cheese}. You done good.
Zzyzx Posted February 22, 2018 Author #5 Posted February 22, 2018 (edited) Wow!! What a recovery!! That's the same bike? Well done. Same bike with 90% of the same parts. Different seat, new windshield, added air horns, replaced the outrigger LED lights, and a couple of trim pieces. Everything else is what was on it during the fire. Edited February 22, 2018 by Zzyzx
BlueSky Posted February 22, 2018 #6 Posted February 22, 2018 Wow! What a great job you have done bringing it back! A local guy has a blonde 83 for sale. It has about 40k miles on it.
Kretz Posted February 22, 2018 #7 Posted February 22, 2018 What a fabulous restoration! A true Phoenix! Congratulations ... Just shows what can be done with a little (or maybe a lot) of hard work & dedication! PS I love that Corbin seat. (for Looks, not sure what it's like to ride on)
vzuden Posted February 23, 2018 #9 Posted February 23, 2018 Amazing! Great job. She really looks good

Just shows what can be done with a little (or maybe a lot) of hard work & dedication! PS I love that Corbin seat. (for Looks, not sure what it's like to ride on) I don’t know how it rides yet either. It came with an 84 barn find bike we picked up a few months back. Thought it would work for now. Will let you know how it does once I put some miles on the behind.
